Craving a crispy snack without the hassle of deep frying? These onion rings come out golden brown on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor. Perfect as an appetizer or a side dish for burgers and meats!
📝 Ingredients
2 large onions
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs
2 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon salt
Cooking spray
👩🍳 Preparation
Peel the onions and slice them into rings about 1 cm thick. Carefully separate the rings.
In a bowl, mix the flour with a pinch of salt.
In another bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk.
In a third bowl, mix the panko breadcrumbs, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and the remaining salt.
Dip each ring first in flour, then in the egg, and finally coat it completely with the panko mixture.
Place the rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer and lightly spray them with oil.
🌡️ Cooking
Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (390°F) for 3 minutes.
Cook the rings for 8 to 10 minutes at 200°C (390°F). Turn them halfway through and spray with a little more oil for even browning.
If necessary, cook in batches for extra crispiness.
💡 Tips
✅ Use panko breadcrumbs for a much crispier coating.
✅ For extra golden brown, add 1 or 2 more minutes of cooking time. ✅ Pair them with ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, chipotle mayonnaise, honey mustard, or cheese sauce.
Crispy, delicious, and much lighter than traditional fried foods! 😍
