My Valentine’s Day dinner…. This entire meal of Top Sirloin Steak, purple potatoes, purple onions and multi colored bell peppers, were cooked in an AIR FRYER!!!! Yes, the steak too! Every once in a while, you got a really eat a good piece of steak so the best place to get a “butcher cut” steaks, is at Wholefoods. Of course, this page is dedicated to “starving artists” and I show you how to cook cheaply and GOOD! I NEVER shop at Wholefoods but I will spend the money only on beef. I got the less expensive of all the cuts, Top Sirloin at 9.99 a pound and the pice I got was 30.00. I divided it in 4 pieces that were perfectly portioned as a single portion.

I was never good at cooking steaks, but last year I bought my butcher cut in like forever and looked it up how to cook. It should be easy for me, cause I like rare or medium rare. I learned how to char it, and spoon tge butter, etc. Since having an air fryer, I researched on how to cook it in the air fryer. Well, it turned out PERFECT! The choice that I got it says it tends to be a little bit more chewy and to always cut against the grain and to also marinate it for 24 hours. I decided to marinate my steaks in my Asian HOT SAUCE, “HAPPY ENDING”. The oyher 3 pieces, was marinated also before putting in the freezer. When taking out of the freezer, it should be thawed out on the bottom shelf of your refrigerator and then the marination will start. It stops once you put it in the freezer. So take out and let thaw for 24 hours.
Preheat the fryer for 5 minutes instead of 3, and on 400 degrees for 10 minutes and turn over halfway through. Let rest for 7 minutes. OMG, it turned out better than when I cooked in a cast iron pan!
The potatoes were seasoned with olive oil, salt, garlic and onion powder, cayenne and fresh rosemary, 400 degrees at 20 minutes. Onions and bell peppers with olive oil and salt, 400 degrees at 8 minutes.

I bought my self a huge Sirloin steak, for my Valentine’s dinner. Mind you, I never celebrated this Halmark holiday except to get candy 50 to 75% off the next day which these days they don’t do that anymore they just get rid of it and put the next holiday candy out. Sooooooo, valentine’s Day is a day to love myself, and I think everyone else should do the same.

I bought the cut from a butcher and I ended up cutting it up into four nice sized pieces. It’s recommended for sirloin steak to be marinated because it’s a tough cut and I haven’t marinated anything in a long time. I thought I’d have to go out and get some teriyaki sauce or something and then I realized one of my new hot sauce recipes, “Happy Ending”, which is my Asian garlic hot sauce, would be PERFECT marinade!!!!

I have a few sample bottles I want to put on my site, along with 10 bottles of my Reaper sauce, but that will be done by the end of the weekend. Each of the samples will be a donation of 7.00 and best to buy with an order, to make it worth the ahipping price. All my sauces, are sold as doubles for 1 quantity item, again to make it worth it because each single bottle is $10 and the shipping is going up to 13, so thats why I sell 2 for 20.00. Whew! I hope that’s not too confusing.

Toxie’s Elixir is TOXalicious on purple sweet potatoes!!!! I’m not a huge fan of sweet potatoes, but I will eat them as French fries or potato discs. The Toxie’s Elixir dipping hot sauce just takes the flavor over the top!!! The tangy savoy heat and flavors with the sweetness of the purple potato. I just poured the hot sauce over the potatoes. … just cut in your desired shape and bake them in the air fryer on 400, for 20 minutes!

First I would like to give thanx and hot pepper kisses to Ed Currie and Puckerbutt Peppers for sending me home with a bag full of of Reaper Peppers, when i was leaving the . I will be contacting you in the near future for fresh Reapers, as I’m working on a new sauce.

I had two freezer bags of reapers that I had grown in my garden and I gave some away to my testers. I had five bottles left. I was gonna put on my store site for a donation but it was so tasty that I used them all for myself 🤣. I was able to make room in my freezer for the Reapers and I will be hard at work, making sauce. I will be working towards making them commercially available in the near future, but in the meantime, I will be using all these wonderful fresh peppers and bottling them for donation. My last kitchen used fresh peppers and I dont know how to work with pepper mash for large amounts. To make room in my freezer, I took out two big bags of unidentified, red peppers I got from Aaron from Coney Island Saucery. He was gonna throw them out, but I met him in Staten Island to get them to find out they were not reapers. I kept them anyway and I think they’re scotch bonnets but not really sure so tonight I had them thawed out and I made a pepper mash with salt. I decided to use it only for my salsa that i make and ine day i will have that commercially available also. I usually use habaneros in my salsa, but I plan on having a variety of salsas-same recipe-different peppers!

Before taking care of my peppers, I fixed myself some potatoes, roasted garlic bulbs, broccoli, mushrooms and chicken, all made from my air fryer. I’m full and pepper sprayed!!!!!
