Color-Dipped Faux Ceramic Vases

Materials:

Thrifted glass vase, acrylic paint, baking powder, mixing bucket.

Step by step:

1. Clean vase.
2. Mix 2 parts paint to 1 part baking powder.
3. Dip vase entirely.
4. Let drip excess.
5. Sun dry.

Note:

Use baking POWDER, not soda, for a durable suede-like texture!

Sun-Baked Botanical Plaster Casts

Materials:

Air-dry clay, liquid plaster, fresh flowers, cooking oil spray, antiquing wax.

Step by step:

1. Roll clay flat.
2. Oil flower and press into clay.
3. Pour plaster over clay mold.
4. Let sun-cure.
5. Peel clay and wax details.

Note:

Mist your flower with oil so it releases from the plaster easily!

Time:

15 mins active, 1 hr cure.

PDRN Vegan Algae Skincare Serum

Materials:

Marine algae gel, hibiscus powder, frosted dropper bottle, mini whisk.

Step by step:

1. Measure algae gel.
2. Add a pinch of hibiscus.
3. Whisk slowly.
4. Transfer to bottle.

Note:

Upcycled Grandmacore Tufted Mirror

Materials:

Thrifted mirror, punch needle, chunky yarn, monk's cloth, craft glue.

Step by step:

1. Stretch cloth on hoop.
2. Trace mirror.
3. Punch yarn in patterns.
4. Glue back to secure loops.
5. Attach to mirror.

Note:

Keep yarn slack while punching for plump loops!

Time:

2 hrs active.

Faux Frosted Amethyst Glass

Materials:

Thrifted jars, clear glue, red/blue food coloring, baking soda.

Step by step:

1. Clean glass.
2. Mix glue & dye.
3. Fold in baking soda until fluffy.
4. Dab onto glass.
5. Sun dry.

Note:

Baking soda naturally lightens the dye into a pastel hue!

Time:

10 mins active, 20 mins dry.

🪞 Frosted Mercury Glass Trick

Materials:

* Clear glass jars
* Mirror-effect spray paint (must be mirror finish!)
* Spray bottle with water
* Paper towels

Step by step:

1. Lightly mist the inside of the jar with water.
2. Immediately spray a light coat of mirror paint over the water.
3. Swirl the jar gently.
4. Let dry for 10 minutes.
5. Gently dab the water droplets away with a paper towel.

Note:

Always apply this to the INSIDE of the glass so the outside remains perfectly smooth and glossy like real antique mercury glass!

Time:

5 mins active, 10 mins dry.

🌿 Ombre Forest Moss Glass!

Materials:

• Clear dollar-store vases
• Clear school glue
• Spirulina powder (for dark green)
• Yellow & green dye + baking soda (for lime green)• Craft sponges

Step by step:

1. Make a dark green paste (glue + spirulina).
2. Make a lime green paste (glue + yellow/green dye + baking soda).
3. Dab the lime paste onto the top half of your glass.
4. Dab the dark spirulina paste onto the bottom half.
5. Use a clean sponge to stipple and blend the middle seam while wet, then cure.

Note:

You have to blend the seam while both pastes are still dripping wet! The spirulina gives the dark green a beautiful, velvety texture that contrasts perfectly with the bright lime top.

Time:

15 mins active, 20 mins cure.

☀️ Raw Citrine Crystal Crust

Materials:

• Clear dollar-store vases
• Clear school glue• Yellow liquid food coloring
• Coarse rock salt (ice cream salt)
• Stiff bristle brush

Step by step:

1. Prep glass with rubbing alcohol.
2. Mix clear glue with exactly 1 drop of yellow dye.
3. Fold in a massive scoop of coarse rock salt.
4. Stipple the chunky mixture heavily onto the glass.
5. Let bake in the hot sun to cure.

Note:

You must use coarse, chunky rock salt! Fine salt will just dissolve, but the big chunks create that authentic, 3D raw crystal crust.

Time:

10 mins active, 30 mins cure.

🩸 Crushed Garnet Geode Glass

Materials:

• Clear recycled jars
• Clear school glue
• Red and black liquid food coloring
• Baking soda• Dark red crushed craft glass (vase filler)
• Round foam brush

Step by step:

1. Mix clear glue with red and a speck of black dye until opaque.
2. Stir in baking soda to create a thick dark red paste.
3. Dab heavily onto the glass using a foam brush.
4. Firmly press dark red crushed glass into the wet paste.
5. Dry completely in the sun.

Note:

Make sure to press the crushed glass into the paste while it is still completely wet so it locks in like cement as it cures!

Time:

15 mins active, 30 mins dry.
