🌕🌸 TONIGHT: THE FULL FLOWER MOON RISES 🌿
Tonight, the beautiful Full Flower Moon rises, lighting the sky with one of spring’s most peaceful and symbolic lunar moments.
🌸 Why it’s called the Flower Moon:
For centuries, Native American and colonial traditions named each full moon after the changing seasons. May’s full Moon became known as the Flower Moon because this is when wildflowers bloom across fields and forests in full color.
🌙 How to watch tonight:
• Step outside around sunset and look east
• Watch the Moon rise large, warm, and golden near the horizon
• As it climbs higher, its color will slowly shift from amber to bright silver-white
• The Moon will remain visible throughout the night
📸 Best photo moment:
Capture it just above the horizon for the famous “Moon illusion,” where it appears unusually large beside trees, buildings, or landscapes.
🌕 And this is only the beginning — May 2026 brings TWO full moons. The second, on May 31, will be a rare Blue Moon.
