The World Cup has a magical way of turning strangers into brothers and rivals into friends. 🌍⚽ None more wholesome than the Hermanos Coreanos between South Korea and México! Tonight at penncellars we’re pouring two drinks rooted in heritage, tradition, and the belief that the best things are made slowly and honestly. We celebrate that partnership as they kickoff in their last group stage games tonight with a free tasting from 4pm to 7pm.
HANA MAKGEOLLI is Brooklyn’s only craft jeongtongju brewery, founded by brewer Alice Jun from a deep love of Korean sool tradition. Made with just three core ingredients organic rice, nuruk (a traditional wild culture starter), and water, their rice wines strike a balance between grain richness, fruit and floral aromatics, and natural lactic acidity. No shortcuts, no additives, just centuries of Korean brewing brought to Greenpoint and now in gwiyeowo cans!
LALO Tequila is equally stripped down and equally proud of its roots. Eduardo “Lalo” González and his childhood friend David Carballido grew up in Guadalajara, the heart of Jalisco, and set out to make the purest expression of tequila possible: just three ingredients, no aging, nothing to hide behind. Lalo is the grandson of Don Julio González, the man who founded Don Julio Tequila in 1942 so this is generational craft bottled in a blanco.
