From the Canary Islands here comes Victoria Torres wines. These really rare wines are made on the northernmost island called La Palma.
Volcanic soil and high altitude vines inside numerous craters dominate the landscape.
The Torres family are an important part of the wine history of the island. They have been making wines for 5 generations.
The vineyards are planted with Malvasia , Negramoll, Listan Negro, Listan Prieto and Albillo and Forrestera.
All the vineyards are worked organically and the use of Sulfur is very sporadic in the cellar.
We truly love Victoria’s wines, they are extremely hard to get, we only receive a few bottles every year and you should jump on the opportunity to try them if you haven’t…We are always super excited to get an allocation.
We have 4 cuvées for you:

Sin Tintulo 2022/2023 a blend of wines from 2022 and 2023 Albillo from 2002 and Listan Bianco from 2023

Malvasia Piezas three different plots form the southern part of the island 80 years old Malvasia vines

Negramoll 100% from vineyards located 350 to 1400 meters above sea levels.

Los Machuqueras a blend of wine from 2016,2017,2018 and 2019 100% Listan Bianco blended in 2022

Look who is back ! Full on, Domaine Matassa by Tom Lubbe just got restocked in quantities…
4 eponymous cuvées and we don’t need to present the winery again and Tom and his wife Nathalie in details.
As we have been long standing fans since day one.
But just to make the story short Tom is initially from New Zealand and has been making wines in the Roussillon south of France for decades.
His total natural approach and the highest drinkability of his wines, have made him a super strategic of the natural wine scene.

Two new wines from Pascal Carole in the Loire have arrived.

Originally from the French Caribbean island of Martinique. Pascal was introduced to wine making through a class at San Francisco’s Ruby Wine. Not long after, he got to pick some grapes and make a little Chardonnay. That experience compelled him to change careers and spend a year working with Brent Mayeaux before moving with his family to Saumur to start his own project.
Production happens in his garage winery on an island in the middle of the Loire river. Most wines are made from Cabernet Franc that I farm in the commune of Distré. He also purchase Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc from local growers who farm organically at the very least.
Only 2,000 to 3,000 bottles are made each year.

1. Canard 2023:

Citrusy and fresh on the nose with a deep savory taste.

Grapes

100% Cabernet Franc grown by Colin Janot in Saix. Certified organic.

Winemaking

The grapes were left whole cluster and crushed thoroughly before being pressed. After pressing, the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks for 8 months followed by additional aging in the bottle for 18 months.

This wine is unfined, unfiltered and has no added sulfites.

2. Trompette 2023

Brightness in a bottle

Grapes

100% Cabernet Franc grown by Claude and Julien Mesnard in Montreuil-Bellay. Certified organic.

Winemaking

The grapes were left intact in whole clusters for 3 weeks before being pressed. After pressing, the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks for 8 months followed by additional aging in the bottle for 18 months.

This wine is unfined, unfiltered and has no added sulfites.

Only 375 bottles made

Clovis Ochin’s story starts in 2005 — led into a Paris wine cave by the sound of Fela Kuti, walked out 12 hours later a true believer. Now making zero-sulfite, zero-intervention wine from his vineyard in Bonastre, Catalunya. the guy is one of a kind and so are these bottles.

We have new tote bags ready to tote new wine! And we have new wine from Léah Anglès ⭐️

Léah Anglès is a rising star in the wine world, bringing a unique blend of cultural heritage and modern winemaking expertise to her craft. She made her first wine in 2018 while working at Domaine de la Coume, and in 2022, she established her own domaine, farming 5.5 hectares of old vine Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan on the steep, schist-laden slopes of Collioure (in Southern France 15 miles from the border with Spain) overlooking the Mediterranean.

Léah’s vineyards are farmed entirely by hand, with organic treatments such as essential oils, copper, and manure. In the cellar, she emphasizes precision and purity, using wild yeasts, stainless steel, fiber vats, and old barrels to craft wines that balance the power and fruit intensity of the region.

We have 5 of her cuvées in shop now!

- Opa: 60% Grenache, 40% Syrah
- Gigi: 100% Cinsault
- Pilgrim: 100% Carignan
- Divay: 100% Grenache
- L’Éléphant Blanc: 100% Macabeu

Mada Wine!

Edouard Adam of Domaine Mada took a pretty unconventional path into wine. Originally from Lyon, he spent part of his childhood in Tunisia before returning to France, ditching business school for hands-on winemaking studies and learning the ropes in organically farmed vineyards around the Languedoc. After starting out in Gignac, he and his wife Pauline eventually settled in Nizas, where they now farm nine hectares of certified organic vines. Edouard’s whole philosophy is about keeping things simple and honest — minimal intervention, no additives, no sulfur, just grapes and careful élevage. The wines are parcel-driven, expressive of their terroir, and known for their bright fruit, freshness, low alcohol, and those wild herbal garrigue notes that make southern French wines so distinctive.

Natives of the Jura, but from farming rather than winemaking backgrounds, Géraud and Pauline Fromont began this Domaine when they were in their mid-20s.

The Marnes Blanches vineyards are divided between three towns: Cesancey, Vincelles, and Ste-Agnès.

As with most Jura producers, the Fromonts make a variety of cuvees ranging from ouillé whites, to sous-voile whites, to Crémants white and rosé, single variety reds, and a delicious vin de paille.  They work with all native yeast.  Parcels are vinified separately and aged in either stainless steel or neutral cask.  Sulfuring is minimal, and they also experiment with 0/0 (no sulfur) winemaking.

In the shop now we have:

Chardonnay Levrette 2022 (in mag form too!!): A mineral, precise and deep Chardonnay. Bright golden color with aromas of white currant, citrus peel, green apple and acacia blossom. The taste is juicy and layered, with beautifully integrated acidity and a long, clean finish.

Poulsard 2023: Young vines planted with a massal selection from Domaine Overnoy (Orbagna) that was originally planted with poulsard from Pierre Overnoy (Pupillin). Herbal and fresh nose, plus a round and floral mouthfeel with ripe strawberries and pink peppercorn flavors.
