It’s always a great day to have the wines of Marc Soyard, the winemaker behind one of Burgundy’s most unusual and exciting estates, back in the shop. As the story goes, the land was bought by the city of Dijon in 2013, who held an open call for a young vigneron with no family winemaking history who would farm organically. Dijon chose Soyard, a Jura native who had spent six years at Domaine Bizot. His “rent” is 2,000 bottles a year to the city (not a bad deal!); in return, he farms the estate’s eight hectares biodynamically, ferments with native yeasts, and keeps intervention in the cellar to a minimum.

Today, Domaine de la Cras is the only estate allowed to use the Coteaux de Dijon designation, reviving a terroir once prized by Burgundian nobility through the 19th century and nearly forgotten since. With each vintage the domaine continues to breathe new energy into Dijon and we are so pleased to have a selection of the 2023 and 2024 vintages in stock now!

Alexandre Jouveaux once worked as a fashion photographer for Chanel, but left Paris in 1995 to begin his journey toward becoming a winemaker in Burgundy. He made a living as a teacher at the local wine school as he slowly purchased enough vines to start his own domaine.

He maintains a minimalist approach in the vineyard, working organically, harvesting by hand and choosing not to fine or filter the wine.

His production is incredibly small (6,000 bottles total) and his wines are becoming more popular each year. We feel lucky to have a small selection!

COMBARNIER is a beautiful Chardonnay from a parcel of thirty year old vines. The grapes were pressed directly and aged in old foudres for a year. Whistle clean, it is all citrus and stones, with plenty of acid and drive.

Baja California produces about 90% of Mexico’s wine, centered in the Valle de Guadalupe. The Mediterranean-climate hills near Ensenada have become one of the most exciting natural wine regions in the Americas. An hour north, the hills of Tecate hold another pocket of growers reviving century-old vineyards with the same low-intervention philosophy. Vinos Pijoan has been a Valle de Guadalupe fixture since 2002. Today Silvana Pijoan, a former professional dancer turned winemaker, runs the cellar. Organic, hand-harvested, spontaneously fermented, unfined and unfiltered.

Árbol de Fuego Rosé 2025 — Grenache, Syrah, Tempranillo. Bright red fruit with a savory, textured edge.

El Carbónico 2025 — Grenache, Syrah, Tempranillo. Funky and spicy, juicy fruit, herbal lift, and a salty minerality that’s a Valle signature.

Vino Figura is the project of Daniel “Kelly” Erasmo Kelly, a Valle de Guadalupe native who apprenticed at wineries across New Zealand, Chile, and Oregon before coming home to launch Figura with small local growers protecting old-vine fruit.

Cochinero 2024 — Grenache, Misión, Rosa del Perú, Palomino. Bold and structured, with grippy texture.

Bichi was founded in 2014 by brothers Noel and Jair Téllez in Tecate, Baja California. The name means “naked” in the local Sonoran Yaqui dialect, a nod to their hands-off approach and old, dry-farmed vineyards.

No Sapiens 2023 — Dolcetto. Black cherry, plum, wild herbs, crushed stone, bright acidity, fine grippy tannins.

After studying oenology in Burgundy, François Dhumes worked with various growers in the Rhône valley. Bored with more industrial winemaking he moved back to his native Auvergne and fell in with the band of natural winemakers that were establishing themselves there.

He bought some vines and with the help of Patrick Bouju and the Tricots began to make wine in a more natural way (he still does some work for both of these growers to fund his own winemaking). François has a smattering of vines (4 ha) on the hill of Corent overlooking the river Allier planted with Gamay d’Auvergne and Chardonnay on limestone and basalt. In 2017 Francois built a new cellar and home in Orcet and now makes wine there with the help of his partner Francine.

Two cuvées available:
Amor Invictus is a delicious Gamay from the Ardèche, it is very much fruit forward and highly drinkable

Minette 100% Gamay d’Auvergne average age is 40 years. Lots of structure and a more serious Gamay.
It is meaty and rich and made to be consumed with food. #

I, Andrew and Jon have been so excited to bring these incredibly delicious California wines to the shop. There is a purity and a charming old school or old world vibe, how you want to portray them in these crafted wines. I can’t say that I drink a lot of California wines myself but these have made my heart skipped a beat into loving them so much again. All was done by the magic of winemakers Randy Czech and Erin Mitchell. I would like to give them a few Thumbs up as well as Elijah Tubbs for distributing these wines in New York.
We are starting with 3 different cuvées with hopefully more to come.

1. Moonwater Merlot Bennett Valley 2023
Harvested under a full moon, the Moonwater Merlot is medium bodied, with plush cherry, herbs, and a little pepper on the palate, Finishes with soft tannins and juicy acidity.

13ppm sulfur

12.5% alcohol

Unfined and Unfiltered

2. Rythm Section 2024 Castanon Vineyard Redwood Valley.

85% Carignan and 15% Zinfandel from George Ricetti’s vineyard planted in the 1960’s in Redwood Valley. Rich and fruity with a core of pleasing acidity from the old vine Carignan and a helping of Zinfandel spice. The wine is medium weight on the palate, a lovely deep garnet color and displays flavors of red plum, dark berries and earth. Tastes great chilled.

Total additions: 30 ppm sulfur.

13.5% alcohol

Unfined and Unfiltered

3. Spider Chase, Chardonnay Perli vineyard 2022
Mendocino Ridge is the name given to the rugged range of mountains that’s bordered on the east by Anderson Valley and the west by the Pacific Ocean. The AVA is defined by elevation and consists of a smattering of vineyards planted on a few flat ridge tops. Perli sits at 2000 feet making for a wine with defined acidity and a distinct aromatic profile. The 2022 vintage is a classic Cali Chardonnay with aromas of lemon curd and white lilies. On the palate, the wine is richly textured with flavors of sliced almond and citrus zest. The long, mouthwatering finish is a little reminiscent of buttery apple tartin.

Total additions: 15ppm sulfur. Alcohol 12.5%

Usually the name les Onglés is associated with the amazing wine producer m Stephane Bernaudeau. Today we are glad to present domaine des Grouas. A new domaine Founded in July 2022 by Lionel and Pauline Hupolox in Martigné-Briand after Lionel transitioned from a career in digital consulting. The estate farms a precious 2.7-hectare parcel of Chenin known as Les Onglés, situated in a meander curve of the Layon River.
Sculpted directly from the schist, the wine highlights the razor-sharp acidity, chalky minerality, and precise, low-intervention style characteristic of top-tier Anjou Chenin Blanc. You should definitely try a bottle for yourself of this amazing Chenin Blanc.

Extreme terroirs, crazy weather, and dramatic winemaking all consolidated in some delicious bottles. May the juice be with you 💫

Tattouine - Matassa Tattouine

One of the most iconic Star Wars planets calls for one of natural wine’s most iconic producers. Tom Lubbe makes incredibly expressive wines in the sun-drenched Roussillon. Tattouine is a bright co-ferment of old-vine Grenache Gris, Carignan, and Macabeu. Result? Light, wild strawberry meets a beautifully deep mineral backbone. Only a few bottles left of this gem - come get it before it’s gone!

Naboo - The Hermit Ram Salty White

Couldn’t imagine a better wine to pair with the sprawling green landscapes of Naboo than this gem from producer (and ex-ecologist) Theo Coles over in North Canterbury, New Zealand. He’s making amazing, place-specific wines, in one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and this is one his best. Theo lets a little flor develop on top of whole-cluster pressed Sauvignon and Chardonnay. A salty ode to Jura flavor profiles.

Mustafar - Envínate Palo Blanco

From the volcanic soils of Tenerife comes one of my all-time favorite white wines. Sourced from a 1.5ha vineyard of centenarian cordon trenzado (braided vines) Listan Blanco at 600m elevation, this one has a smoky minerality, beautiful texture, and amazing stone fruit in a kind of white Burgundy meets wild volcano island wine vibe… One of my absolute favorites to blind people on!

Hoth - Riccitelli Kung Fu Malbec

Extreme winemaking in the Andes mountains feels like an apt comparison to the windy winter planet of Hoth. One of our all-time shop favorite Argentinan winemakers, Matias Riccitelli, produces this 100% Malbec in the Uco Valley, at 1400m above sea level. Aged in clay amphorae, this wine comes through with some inky black fruit, herbal undertones, and silky tannins. One of the best takes on what Malbec can be.
