It’s 5:00 p.m. on a Friday and your bag is already on your shoulder.

In Hawaiʻi, this is the gold hour — cooler open on a lanai, nowhere fancy. Hapa Drink Co helps bring this feeling to a rooftop in Manhattan: a can sweating in your hand, condensation running past the label as you crack it open to welcome the weekend.

Pau hana. Work is done. You deserve this refreshing treat. Enjoy the weekend.🍍

Happy Aloha Friday, Hapa fam! 🤙🏽

Did you know that “casual Friday” in the office borrows from “Aloha Friday” in Hawaiian culture? In the 1940s, Aloha Friday was born in Honolulu when city workers were allowed to ditch the shirt and tie and wear more casual, short-sleeve button-up shirts on the hottest weeks of the year. And, look how it’s spread – Aloha shirts are seen in places well beyond the island shores. Do you have one in your closet? 🍍

Happy graduation season, Hapa fam! For folks from Hawaii, “what high school did you go to” is a popular question because it tells you a little about their roots. There also may be some friendly banter between grads from rival schools.

To the class of 2026, whichever school you went to, congratulations! Cheers, this one is for you.🎉🍍

Lucy here… The term “wasian” is trending on the Internet right now and people like me, half mixed Asian, are becoming popular in entertainment and folks are organizing meet-ups all over the country. When I saw that a big one was happening in NYC, I knew I had to go and Hapa Drink Company had to represent as a hapa-owned business, because “hapa” is what we say at home and on the west coast to refer to mixed Asians.

The meetup had a super supportive, upbeat energy. I loved being surrounded by so many hapas and meeting so many awesome people in the community. Shout out the Hawaiian hapas who said hi — didn’t this meet up feel like home a bit?

Mahalo nui to everyone who stopped by to chat and especially to those who bought a can to support Hapa Drink Company. I’m proud to be part of the hapa community and hope to see you at future hapa events and more!

Link in bio to learn more about this hapa-owned brand or to purchase product. 🍍

Hapa Drink Company is rooted in a deep respect for Hawai’i, the place that raised us, which is why malama ka ‘āina, take care of the land, is printed on each can. It is a reminder of a value that we hold dearly.

We want everyone, including future generations, to experience the reward of the islands’ natural resources and are proud to partner with the Hawaii Land Trust (HILT) to give back to the ‘āina.

For every Hapa can purchased, $0.05 goes to Hawai’i Land Trust, an organization whose mission is to protect, steward, and cultivate reciprocal relationships between people and ‘āina that sustain Hawai’i.

Happy Earth Day (every day) from Hapa Drink Co + Hawai’i Land Trust 💚
