Butchered one of our Kune-Kunes, the meat is soooo good! These ones had a lot of fat so I'm making lard. I love chicken liver, beef is ok. But I just tired pork liver for the first time last night🤤🤤🤤 So good!
Bacon is curing,the "slab" is so tiny🤣
12lbs of grind vs average pig of like 50-75ish pounds after cuts are taken.

Seven years ago we started on this road of becoming more and more self sufficient and didn't know anything. I'll admit that with the vast amount we have learned, mostly the hard way, it's not a drop in the bucket to what the farmers that do this day in and day out know. We did however reach a milestone this week.... we are blessed to be putting hay in the barn way ahead of winter for the first time this year and at least another 30-40 round bales to haul in from the fields this week. That brings me to the biggest lesson that I think we've learned so far which is; don't talk about it... do it. So many things, on even an operation this small, just have to get done. Some are little and some are big but every one of them are just as important. God bless you all and keep on doing all of the things that you need to do to chase down your dreams!

I startedout taking step by step pictures but, hopefully I can use this during the cooler months for greens.
Dug down a bit.
Laid out compost
Laid out w**d block
Built drop over Green house
Built wooden frame to go around green house
Piled dirt around frame
Next chicken coop clean out day I'm goingto pile around the frame in hopes of feeding the soil and helping keep it warm when it gets cold.

Ok! It's nice out and I'm in Garden mode👩‍🌾 Soooo I'm asking Facebook if any of y'all would feel compelled help me out. I wouldlike to build something like this with the clear-ish milk jugs. I would gladly come pick them up. Or if you happen to be driving down Sportsmen Club stop in or drop them in the trunk outside the gate💗
