Adelsheim Vineyard was founded with an optimistic spirit and a lofty dream: to create world-class wines in an undiscovered wine region, the Chehalem Mountains of Oregon's Willamette Valley. Luck, fate, and a single-minded determination to make world-class wine in Oregon led David and Ginny Adelsheim to purchase their first 19 acres just outside Newberg, Oregon in 1971. Drawn to the uniqueness of the land and its proximity to Portland, it was here they decided to stake their claim, plant their first rows of Pinot noir along Quarter Mile Lane, and establish what would become the Chehalem Mountains’ first-ever winery in 1978—Adelsheim.

We’ve had such a blast hiking with everyone who joined us this summer! Our partnership with our neighbors at Cooper Mountain Vineyards made the experience even sweeter.

We welcome all mediums and creative interpretations that explore w**e’s connection to the natural world from which it comes—and the human hands, hearts, and stories that bring it to fruition.

Join us this weekend for some movement, relaxation, and socialization, all topped off with some fabulous food and w**e!

Friday Après kicks the weekend off. Celebrate making it through another week and transition into a slower pace with fun as the top priority. Chef Antwan is cooking up special bites to accompany your w**e.

Sunday is a fun day with two unique opportunities to get moving. Yogi Katie leads an all-level flow 9am-10am that will lull you into a zen state, and follows up with a glass of w**e. That’s what we call balance.

Our weekly vineyard hike starts at 10am. Gather at our tasting room and take a stroll through our vineyard and onto neighboring Cooper Mountain, where you’ll sit for the first of two seated tastings. After more exploring of the Chehalem Mountains is all their splendor, we’ll make our way back to Adelsheim for your second tasting. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, stay awhile and enjoy our à la carte menu, available for a little post-hike sustenance.

Sunday mornings, beginning May 3rd and running through the end of summer, we’re offering a guided 2 mile hike through the beautiful Chehalem Mountains.

Your journey begins at Adelsheim and winds through our estate vines to neighboring Cooper Mountain, where the story continues. You’ll pause for a seated tasting, giving you a fresh perspective and a deeper look at a neighboring producer’s approach to w**emaking.

Get back on the trail and continue engaging your senses by sampling fresh fruit, listening to our guides share stories about vineyard life, and taking in the landscape - all while clocking your daily steps!

The return to Adelsheim brings the experience full circle with another seated tasting and an opportunity to reflect on everything you’ve seen, heard and tasted throughout the day.

This unique opportunity not only highlights the fruits of the land, but underscores the shared commitment to collaboration within the Willamette Valley w**e community.
