Proud coach moment ā¤ļø
Taking a minute to recognize Emily MacFarland and Frannieās progress this weekend!
One of the hardest (and coolest) parts of training horses is remembering that progress rarely happens all at once. Itās a lot of little things coming together over timeāand sometimes youāre working toward something that feels really far away. Then, every once in a while, you get a glimpse of what all that time and sweat equity is building toward. Those are the moments that make it worth it.
And this weekend at Lets Go Show, Emily and Frannie had not one, but TWO big milestones.
š“ Friday night: their first cattle class!
Emily and Frannie stepped into the boxing class for the very first time. Their calf slipped away with about 10 seconds left, but for the 40 seconds before that, they held their calf really well and stayed in the game. They placed 8th out of 11!
My goal for most students in their first cattle class is pretty simple: donāt DQ and have a blast. They accomplished both. š
ā Then came trail⦠and WOW.
They placed 3rd in Schooling Walk/Trot Trail with a 72 and 2nd in Adult Walk/Trot Trailāand these are typically some of the biggest trail classes at the show!
And I have to give Frannie an extra shoutout here. Sheās a draft cross competing among a sea of really nice Quarter Horses at a ranch show, and she and Emily are proving that you donāt have to fit the mold to belong in the arena.
These are the weekends that remind me why I love coaching. Not because everything is perfect, but because you get to watch the little pieces start coming together.
So proud of you two! ā¤ļø
