The snow is starting to melt and the days are growing longer. Our flocks are starting to get ready for the laying season...

The snow is starting to melt and the days are growing longer. Our flocks are starting to get ready for the laying season. With the thaw starting there is a lot of work to be done. Our coops are ready for a good cleaning with the deep litter removed for compost and our birds are ready for us to finish our project pens for thier new homes. Winter came up on us to fast and we were unable to finish all of the construction projects that we had. Our girls are staring to lay(inconsistently) and getting ready for a good year.

Currently, the US Government is still in a state of shutdown. At this time, Nugget Farm and Hatchery would like to thank all of our active duty servicemen, women, and their families for their service to our nation. Currently, these men and women are actively serving without pay until the shutdown ends. We encourage anyone who can help these people in any way to do so. If you know of any resources for them, please share the information with them. We are also encouraging everyone to contact their Senators and Representatives to tell them that you are fed up with this and to come to some sort of agreement on the budget soon.
