High Road Farm

High Road Farm This abandoned lot was once home to a booming family business. As family health declined, so did the health of this farm. Not up for the commitment?

The Story's have owned this land since the great depression, two generations of farmers have tilled and planted these fields. With the help of the local community, friends and family, McDonough Scanlon has been cleaning up the lot and producing vegetables from these old fields. A background in psychology, sociology and nutrition along with focused research of the "gift economy" gave McDonough the

idea to donate all of the first years produce. Vegetables could be found at our "By Donation" farmstead and also at the local food banks. This year we will continue to donate food to our local food banks along with our "Share to Share" community CSA share to gift to outstanding people in our community once a week. Our CSA or Community Supported Agriculture is up and running for the public this year. Please join our community supporting the rehabilitation of this old family farm. This year we are offing a Spring share comprised of fresh greens, radishes, peas and herbs for 4 weeks, a summer share loaded with tomatoes, greens, herbs and much more for a total for 11 weeks, and finally our fall share, heavy in roots, cabbage, herbs and late fall greens for a total of 12 weeks. No worries, our farmstead will also be open Tuesday, Thursday (12-6pm) and Sunday's 7am-5pm)
