Life has hit us extremely hard the last 3 weeks and delayed us being able to get pigs in the chip barn. However, we’ve made huge progress this week and pigs are starting to move in!
The barn will not be opening this weekend. We are looking to open for Labor Day weekend.

Pigs on the nursery floor are starting to pop! We hope to have them down on chips in the next few weeks for viewing. June crosses and July pures will be available. We are proud of what we have put together with this set. We are small but incredibly intentional in what we breed. If we don’t think a sow has the ability to produce elite stock, it doesn’t stay. All that to say, we have the strongest set of pigs we have ever offered this fall.

Raising pigs is one of the greatest joys for our family. We always say, we love the mommas and babies the most. The funny moments, the sweet moments, and the little victories are what keep us motivated.

But the difficult days come, too—more often than we would like. Raising pigs is not for the faint of heart.

And then there are days that shake you to your core.

Today was one of those days. The kind where, no matter how much you do right, how carefully you follow every procedure, or how many times you check and double-check, things can still go wrong in a big way.

Those days knock you down. They take your breath away. They leave you wondering what you could have done differently, even when you know you did everything you could.

But eventually, the chaos settles. The sun fades. And somehow, the evening routine of feeding, checking, loving, and caring for these animals pulls you back up.

Not every day is easy. Not every day is fun. Some days hurt more than others.

But tomorrow, we’ll wake up and do it all again—with tired eyes, full hearts, and the same love for these animals that brought us here in the first place.

Because this life isn’t always easy. But it is ours.

And we’ll keep choosing it—with joy in our hearts.

There’s something special about a boy who loves raising pigs.

Long before the banners and the backdrop photos, there are early mornings, heavy feed buckets, dirty boots, and long days in the barn. There are lessons in responsibility, patience, and perseverance that can’t be taught anywhere else.

He learns that success isn’t handed to you—it’s earned one chore, one setback, and one small victory at a time. He celebrates the wins, grows through the losses, and shows up again tomorrow because the livestock still need cared for.

The pigs may be what brought him to the barn, but they won’t be the only thing he takes with him. They’ll leave him with a work ethic, humility, grit, and memories that will last a lifetime.

We’re proud of every young person who chooses this life. Keep feeding, keep learning, and keep chasing your goals. The barn has a way of building far more than great pigs—it builds great people.

Thank you all for your interest in our 2026 show pigs! We have received so many messages asking when we’ll be opening the barn, and we’re excited to finally share our plans.

🐷 Barn Opening: First week of September

We’ll be showing pigs based on their readiness, and each pig will be priced individually.

We’re also planning an online sale on Showpig.com toward the end of September.

We’ll continue to share more details as we get closer to September.
