Orchard Delights

Orchard Delights We make Jams, sauces, dried fruit, cobblers, crisps, pies, salsas, and more here at Twin Peaks. The family raised almost all of their own food.

Twin Peaks Orchard, an 100 acre farm, began nearly a century ago in 1912. Besides the fruit from the orchard, the family maintained a large vegetable garden. In their spare time between harvest, they canned, preserved, pickled, brined, dried, and made jams and jellies. After generation of enjoying these wonderful treats the family decided to begin producing them for others. In 2006, Carol Iwasak

i (third generation) decided to move back to the farm and soon began the process of building a commercial processing facility. In her youth she helped her mother and grandmother put up dozens of jars of tomatoes, peaches, pears, pickles, jams and jellies, all from the orchard. Today, the farm produces stone fruit ( cherries, peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums and pluots) in the summer, persimmons and olive oil in the fall and citrus (mandarins, navels, lemons, pummelos, melogold, blood orange) in the late fall and early winter. The fruit is hand picked, sorted and packed. The premium fruit is sent to the Farmers Markets and stores including Whole Foods Market, restaurants and specialty stores. The cosmetically challenged fruit is sent to the processing kitchen to make value added products under the label of Orchard Delights at Twin Peaks. These products are hand made in small batches. The same way it was done long ago. To continue the legacy of farming, a small orchard was created within the Twin Peaks Orchard using all organic practices and bringing back the old favorites such as Albertas and 49ers Peaches and Satsuma Plums and others. This part of the orchard is called Orchard Delights. Quality, sustainability, food safety, from seed to tree, to plate and fork. From jams and jellies to olive oil and honey. We are constantly making new items to take to the market. Try one of our products and enjoy the taste of the past.

Hello to our friends! We love seeing you at the farmers markets, farmstand and seeing our fruit in restaurants all over the region. Your support means to world to us!

I just wanted to acknowledge all of the hard work farmers are doing to bring you produce during these past several years of crazy weather patterns, amongst many other challenges that we could go on and on about! We’ve been doing a lot of work to make sure the orchard remains sustainable, investing in our land, crops and most importantly, our team that works tirelessly with skill and attention.

So I’m going to talk about how this year, through both our summer season and now fall/winter season, we have had VERY light crops. Our Satsuma mandarins are almost all harvested, we will have some at the farmstand and farmers markets hopefully through the month and even then will be very limited. Over the past 4 years we have been planting more trees that are starting to be mature enough to produce some fruit, mainly our stone fruit. So please hang in there! We promise it will be worth it!

That being said: Unfortunately, we are unable to ship persimmons this season. We were waiting for the last minute to see if we would be able to, but our crop is so small we are having a difficult time filling orders. We hope next season will be abundant!

We are committed to continue offering good, clean and fair food to our community. Thank you again, we literally could not do this without your support.

Much love,
Camelia

Our first ingredient is always our organic fruit. That is why legally we have to call it a spread instead of a jam. Jams are required to have sugar as their first ingredient. You always taste the fruit in our spreads. We use just enough organic sugar to preserve and set it.

This Sunday, October 12th is Farm and Barn Tour! This is a self guided tour throughout Placer County farms with many participating farmers. There truly is something for everyone, for the entire family. The last time Twin Peaks Orchards was part of this tour was before our structure fire here in 2020, where we used to host vendors in our beautiful historic packing shed. So we are especially excited to be a stop this year!

We’ve invited some friends out to celebrate! Our farmstand will preview all of the products you can expect during the fall and winter season, including produce from and others. In addition we are welcoming:
