Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy at Wild Irish Farm is slightly different from other programs in that our clinicians act as both the psychotherapist and the horse expert. As a result, it more closel

y mimics the clinical nature of traditional psychotherapy. However, placing the practice in a barn significantly changes the nature of the work. Although an office is used, the bulk of the work occurs in the barn or riding ring. Further, adding a horse to the equation changes the relationship between the client and the therapist. The focus of both the client and the therapist becomes the relationship and interaction with the horse. We do have an indoor riding ring, making it possible to ride during the winter and periods of inclement weather. We incorporate the horses as much as possible during all therapeutic pursuits. The EFP Program at Wild Irish Farm works with children ages 3-18. We provide individual, group, and family sessions. We have experience working with children diagnosed with:
