I had a wonderful strawberry harvest this grow season. I am currently cleaning up the berry greenstalks and potting up the runners into these cute berry pots. There are more blooms coming. Preparing for another great season. Happy Gardening!🍓

The Sugar Baby watermelon is a popular heirloom "icebox" variety introduced in 1959. It grows small, round fruit weighing 6 to 12 pounds with a dark green, nearly black rind and sweet, bright red flesh. It is famous for fitting easily in the fridge and thriving in small spaces.

🍉Key Features and Fruit Traits

• Size: 6 to 12 pounds; about 7 to 8.5 inches across.
• Rind: Dark green to almost black, thin, and tough.
• Flesh: Deep red, fine-grained, crisp, and very sweet.
• Maturity: 75 to 90 days from planting.

Growing and Harvesting Tips

• Space-saving: Ideal for small gardens, raised beds, or large containers (15+ gallons). Can also climb a trellis with proper fruit slings.
• Climate: Does well in shorter or cooler growing seasons due to early maturity.
• Ripeness check: Look for the tendril closest to the stem to turn completely brown and dry. The bottom "belly" spot should change from white to a creamy yellow color.

Anyone here starting more summer veggies? I have more zuchinni, yellow squash, moringa, tomatoe and pepper starts so far. I have to make sure my grocery list is covered. I so enjoy growing my own💚

I got blackberries🙌🏾 I was welcomed by these beauties when I returned from vacay. 😄 My
" Greenstalk" strawberry patch is also producing again. The blackberry dumplings I made were delicious. Are you growing berries? What's your favorite recipe? Share in the comments.
