There are things about raising cattle that are hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t lived it.

It’s checking cows before daylight and making one more trip after dark. It’s watching a first calf heifer become a better mama than you ever expected. It’s the calf you fought to save finally running across the pasture like nothing ever happened.

It’s missing vacations, stretching equipment another year, working an off farm job, and making sacrifices most people will never see, just to keep doing something you love and hopefully pass it down to your children.

For us, raising cattle isn’t just a job. It’s a way of life. It’s something we feel called to do.

That’s why it hurts when the answer to high beef prices seems to be finding cheaper beef somewhere else.

American producers have spent generations improving genetics, caring for our animals, protecting the land, and producing a product we are proud to put on another family’s table.

We aren’t asking for a handout. We’re asking for the work, sacrifice, and quality behind American beef to matter.

Because when American agriculture struggles, it reaches far beyond the farm gate. These are the families supporting the local ball teams, buying from small businesses, sponsoring the county fair, donating to the school fundraiser, and keeping rural communities alive.

We’ll get up tomorrow and do it all again. There will be cows to check, calves to feed, fences to fix, and another generation watching us.

Farm families are resilient. We always have been.

But please don’t mistake our ability to keep going for an ability to keep taking the hit.
