Farming Family

Mr. Pradeep Thapa is learned farming enthusiast as he comes from generational farming family in Nepal. He is also brand consultant, digital journalist and IT professional. He has 29 years of print and digital media experience in Nepal and USA and 18 years of web development, digital branding experience in India and USA. Currently, he is the Editor-in-Chief of www.nepalism.com. He plans to take the family farming tradition to next level with the help from his youngest bother Khadga Bir Thapa who has started modern sustainable agriculture farming in 2000. Thapa’s father, a WWII war hero, late Insp. (SPFGC) Jit Bahadur Thapa Magar, IDSM, Burma Star (WWII) who became the first village chieftain of their native village Thulo Lumpek, Gulmi (Nepal) in 1962. After retiring from Singapore Police Force Gurkha Contingent (SPFGC) in 1959, he had taken agriculture farming training at famed Lumle Agriculture Research Center, Pokhara in 1960 which was funded by Kadoorie Charitable Foundation, Hong Kong. Coincidentally, youngest of Thapa family, Khadga also had taken agriculture training from the same center. Khadga is now a leading agro entrepreneur and trainer in Nepal. He is also USAID's Master Trainer of Business Literacy Program for farmers (2015-2017). He is also one of the Top 10 Entrepreneurs (Farmers) of Daayitwa Enterprize Challenge 2015 Gulmi, Nepal. Princeton University Students Visit USA Agro Farm for Sustainability, Food Access, and Stewardship Tour

Exclusive: Newton, NJ– On August 30th, 2024, more than 65 enthusiastic students from Princeton University's Pace Center for Civic Engagement (PCCE) visited USA Agro Farm in Newton, New Jersey, for an educational tour focusing on sustainability, food access, and land stewardship. This visit marks the second consecutive year that PCCE students have engaged with USA Agro Farm, solidifying a growing partnership centered on sustainable agriculture and community well-being in local level.

Building Goat Shelter 2.0! This next generation goat shelter (बाख्राको खोर) is being built using locust tree posts which can last at least 50 years! That means I am building it for next steward of farmers who will inherit it to keep mother earth sustainable for future generations. Way to go.🙏💕👏🕺🐐🌱🌻💪🙏

I'm excited to welcome a new batch of enthusiastic students from Princeton University's Pace Center for Civic Engagement to USA Agro Farm. This is second year visit. I look forward to sharing my experiences on sustainability, food access, land rights, and stewardship. Isabel Connolly, a rising sophomore at Princeton University, will lead the group on Friday, August 30, 2024, between 10 am and 12 noon at our farm location in Newton, New Jersey. USA Agro Farm is proud to partner with them for a promising green future. 🙏💕👏🫶🌱🌽🙏

Princeton University, ranked #1 by US News Best Colleges for 2024 and holding the top spot for 13 consecutive years among National Universities, is also ranked #18 in the world by US News Best Global Universities. 💪
