Home from the goat show and this is my supper!

Highlights from the Cleveland County fair show: Teranda (picture from earlier in the year) was best of breed Nubian. Yearling milker, Cierra was reserve senior champion Nubian and senior kid, Pearl, was reserve junior champion Nubian.

I appreciate the Smokey Mountain Dairy Goat Association for all the hard work they put into hosting their three ring spring show in Knoxville TN this weekend.

I took several yearlings and Teranda, as a champion challenge doe. GCH Deep Creek MYS Teranda was best of breed in all three rings and best doe in show in one ring.

One month.... until my "winter break" is over. As much as I'm enjoying it, I'm getting a little excited. Soon we will see the results of breeding decisions and like everyone else, watching our favorite does, hoping for daughters to be even better than their mothers.

This week, I got some of those things that have to be done this time of year checked off my list. Such as, re-enrolling for DHI and ADGA Plus, scales calibrated and CAE testing. As expected, those results are all negative for the entire herd.

Now I will just enjoy this last month of peace and grunts and groans from soon to be momma's. Happy kidding everyone!

We made our annual trip to South Carolina State Fair this past weekend. Only took a few milkers (left the kids at home) so it was pretty laid back. I always enjoy the atmosphere and fellowship with friends at this show. The surprise visit from Alex Berry, Kylie Hopkins and Pete Snyder was icing on the cake.

GCH (unofficially)Deep Creek MYS Teranda 2*M was senior champion Nubian. This wraps up the show season as we turn does dry now and rest up for the next kidding season. Congratulations to all the winners and best of luck this breeding/kidding season!

At the Dixie Classic Fair, Winston-Salem, NC this weekend. Deep Creek MYS Teranda 2*M was senior champion Nubian and best of breed. SGCH Deep Creek MYS Emblem 3*M was best Nubian udder, and our dairy herd was best in show! Thankful for those who helped (and offered to) this weekend.

We are at the Tennessee Valley Fair this weekend and showed milkers today. 3 yr old, Teranda (pictured) was senior champion. Emblem was Nubian best of breed and Patrice was best Nubian udder and best udder in show.
