ππΏ Want to Come Help Out at Amillia Acres? πΏπ
We've had something on our minds for a while...
Every so often, someone tells us, "I'd love to come help on the farm sometime!β And meanwhile, we're over here looking at approximately 487 projects that need doing. π
So... maybe it's time we put those two things together.
We're going to start opening up a few Saturday mornings at Amillia Acres for a SMALL group of people who would enjoy coming out, getting their hands dirty, and helping us tackle some real-life farm projects.
And when we say real farm projects, we mean REAL farm projects. π
One Saturday we may be cleaning and organizing part of the barn. Another might be clearing brush, hauling wood, building burn piles, cleaning stalls, moving farm materials, or tackling one of those projects that has been sitting on our "we really need to get to that...β list for far too long.
You don't have to be super strong or know anything about farming! We'll have different kinds of projects ranging from light to moderate to heavy, and you'll tell us when you sign up what you're comfortable doing.
We'll keep these mornings SMALL β only about 5β6 people at a time β because that's honestly about all we can manage while actually getting something accomplished. β€οΈ
We'll provide the cold drinks and snacks.
And after we're finished working for the morning, you're welcome to stick around and enjoy a little of the GOOD part of farm life. π₯°
π Visit and love on the goats
π₯ Help collect eggs
π Hang out with the chickens
πΆ Love on the farm dogs
πΏ Or just sit for a little while and enjoy being on the farm
This isn't the picture-perfect version of farm life. **It's the real version.** Things get muddy. Barns get messy. Weeds grow faster than we can keep up with them. Projects pile up. Animals make messes. And there is ALWAYS something that needs doing.
But there's also something pretty wonderful about spending a morning outside, working alongside other people and looking back a few hours later at what you accomplished together.
**Ages 14+ are welcome.** Anyone ages 14β17 will need to attend and participate with a parent or guardian. No younger children during our Help Out mornings, please.
If this sounds like your kind of Saturday morning, we'd genuinely love to have you. β€οΈ
