From pumpkins to corn — the cycle continues.

This field was home to our pumpkin crop in 2025. After the final pumpkins were harvested at the end of October, we seeded the field with a cover crop to help stabilize and protect the soil throughout the winter months.

Fast forward to this week, we’re planting field corn using a no-till method, meaning the corn is planted directly into the existing cover crop residue without traditional tillage. No-till farming helps reduce soil erosion, retain moisture, improve soil health, and keep valuable nutrients where they belong.

Every field has a story, and this one is a great example of how we work year-round to care for the land while growing the crops that help feed our communities.

𝙵𝚛𝚘𝚖 𝙶𝚛𝚎𝚎𝚗𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝙶𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍 🍅

Tomato planting from the greenhouse to the fields! Our crew has been busy tilling fields, laying plastic, drip irrigation, and transplanting tomato plants started right in our greenhouse.

This 6-acre field is planted with large round tomatoes and heirloom tomatoes, with approximately 440 plants per row — thousands of tomato plants now growing for the season ahead.

A lot of work goes into every harvest long before the first tomato is picked, and we’re excited to watch these fields grow. 🚜🍅

Planting is underway at Lentini Farms & this is where another season begins.

Here is the farmer planting field corn in Augusta, NJ, which totals around 50 acres that will then be harvested in November.

🌽 𝔽𝕌ℕ 𝔽𝔸ℂ𝕋 𝔽ℝ𝕆𝕄 𝕋ℍ𝔼 𝔽𝕀𝔼𝕃𝔻: In New Jersey, most of the corn you see growing isn’t sweet corn—it’s field corn! It’s harvested later in the season and used for animal feed, silage, and products like cornmeal and corn oil.

We’ve been a little quiet over here… and for good reason 🤍

Winter is our slower season on the farm—a time to rest, reset, and plan for everything ahead. But behind the scenes, we’ve been getting ready for another full (and exciting) season at Lentini Farms 🌱
