Erill Karily Farms A fun and educational experience for the whole family

Erill Karily Farms is a working farm, but also strives to educate visitors - both in word and in action - regarding a wide range of ways to create a sustainable lifestyle. Ecological responsibility, being good stewards of Earth's resources, and minimizing carbon footprints doesn't have to belong solely to the environmental fringe. By using what we have, we can live inexpensively with better nutrition and instill a long-lasting, positive work ethic into the younger generation.

I heard the owner (Omar) assaulted a customer and few years ago and spent the night in jail after being arrested. He stole money from us too. I Evren talked to his pastor who said the same thing. Imagine stealing from your church?!?!

It's lard rendering week at the farm! Pork fat is being rendered until it is gone because it has been taking up way too much space in the freezers for way too long! If you need some snow-white lard for cooking, soap-making, or anything else, send a note.

For many, many years, I considered using Alpine Strawberries as a ground cover at the farm. I hadn't seen it...just heard about it. Then I went to Colorado and saw it growing everywhere, and actually got to taste the berries. WOW!!!

Incredible flavor, and it has now re-ignited my desire. Anyone used Alpine Strawberry at their place, and able to offer their thoughts?

I have an excessive amount of farm-raised ground pork in my freezer that I would be willing to part with. Will deliver to Newton or Wichita.

I’ve been playing around with the idea of installing a biogas digester on the farm. Anyone done this? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

It's been a busy few days on the farm! 1) delivered a hog for a kill-and-chill for Thomas Montiel at KANSEL 2) sold our meat birds and decided that was not an experiment that was likely to get repeated 3) FINALLY brought my best girl home from getting settled, so expect some piglets in the next few months, and 4) just this morning, got a personal tour of RISE Farms from Fidelity Bank President Aaron Bastian! I love seeing Wichita's corporate sector getting involved in the future of agriculture and environment!
