Not long ago I had many people give me a hard time about not selling meat pens. I'm pretty opinionated on that subject. Not only was i called names i was told I'm not willing to help our youth. What?!! Anyone that knows me knows how much I love our youth. A few days ago I posted 2 broken red bucks that I brought home to give a youth some cage space. I sold the Jr for her. The Sr i was going to take to Texas to try to sell. Thursday morning during chores he was fine. Thursday evening when I went load everyone for the show I was pretty sure he had broken his back. Now I've dealt with that before and sometimes if you're really lucky it's just a pinched nerve and they're fine in a few days. So I brought him in the house where he could be cool and Bob kept an eye on him. I got home yesterday and it was very obvious a broken back. I didn't want him to suffer anymore so we did the deed. Well Harper is one of my favorite youth. She's one of my girls and even tho it's not my fault about the buck and could have happened to anyone, it still happened on my watch. So for those who think I don't care about the youth or rabbits I gave Harper the option of me paying for Red Rock or offering her a replacement when I have one. She excitedly took the offer of replacement later this fall. I didn't need to do that but it's our youth. It's Harper. I'd do anything for her.

Longview Texas Cajuns and Cowboys Show

What can i say about the first show of the season? It didn't disappoint!! I think the best thing I'll take from it as it proves to myself that I'm getting much better at determining where I think my rabbits will place. Not necessarily against other breeders. Just which ones I think are better than others in my own herd.

Reds
1SFL7 6/8 doe. I've always thought she was the best out of that litter.
SkyFire x Luke. BOV all 3 shows, honorable mention for BOB in Show A and B. Show C wasn't exactly an honorable mention in those words but the judge did compare her to the BOB winners along with my 6/8 broken buck. More on him later.

1SFL5 another SkyFire x Luke daughter took 2nd in all 3 shows.

1SFL3 Skywalker 6/8 buck. BOSV all 3 shows. I knew this boy was special from the beginning. I'm so glad Bobby Campbell came up with that name as this buck would make his mother proud.

1SFL4 took 2nd to his brother all 3 shows.

SURL1 doe took 3rd in all 3 shows. There were 4 6/8 does in each class.
She's out of Hwy 64 All Shook Up x Green Gate's Renewed Legacy.

My 2 Jr red does placed 1st and 2nd in Show A, 2nd and 3rd in B and 3rd and 4th in C. They still need to do some growing but I'm happy with them. They are Oberbroeckling's Apple Cider x Green Gate's High Flyin Rebel.
They have a brother still at home that I didn't have room to bring.

Blacks
Show A BOV and BOSV but they were the only blacks so by default but had great comments. Overall the buck placed better than the doe. This breeding was a joined effort with Black and Blue Hares Jack to Green Gate's Angel Fire. Angel is my best blue doe from last year.

Blues had decent comments on type but all said bad fur. Well it's been 100 degrees with extreme humidity so that was expected. Pj kicked my butt in blues this time. I know I have some work to do in my blues this year so I'm not expecting to place high.

Brokens

GGB2 broken black 6/8 buck is out of Green Gate's Glimmer of Grace x TNC'S Blaze. Bobby Campbell down at Delta Bluff Rabbitry allowed me to breed Glimmer to Blaze. I always liked this buck and kept him over his sister. He didn't disappoint by placing BOV all 3 shows. Show C the judge did mention him and the red doe as close contenders for breed but neither could beat the whites. Imagine that! Lol

Colton did pretty well with his but again our fur held him back in placing well in most classes. Show A he did get BOV and BOSV in blacks. His brokens are just too out of coat to place well right now. Good comments on type for most of them.

There weren't enough exhibitors for most classes so I'm not bringing home any legs and I'm ok with that. Reds were still big classes even though there were only 2 exhibitors. Overall I'm very happy with the results and we will hit the next show table in Sedalia MO for the Midwest Classic Quad. I know that's a big one.

I wanted to show you guys why I bought that little Jr' broken red bucks sister. Last Pic I'm holding her like a baby and she's just as calm as can be. Let me tell you about her mom's side and then I'll tell you what her name is.
Roots and Rabbits Isabelle is an amazing doe with 13 legs. Harper, the youth that owns her, has done a great job with her rabbits. She's out of Green Gate's Magnet. I had sold him to another breeder with just his tattoo number and Roots and Rabbits got him from them and named him. Unfortunately they lost Magnet to the brutal heat a couple years ago. It may have been last summer, I'm not sure. Harper was devastated about it. Now Unfortunately both of Magnets parents had passed so I couldn't replace him exactly. What i could do is get pretty close. Welcome to their rabbitty Green Gate's Atlas. Atlas is out of Crossfire making him half sister to SkyFire. They carry some of the same lines as Magnet. Atlas has produced a winner for them named Zeus. Follow their page and you can see all kinds of pics.

Before I get to that I want share a scripture that was shared with me. Now I'm not a religious person or go to church but I do believe. I've read this scripture many times since it was sent to me.
Ephesians 6:13 says, "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand."
I'm also sharing something that this same person sent me. I have no idea who wrote it but it's now my life mission.

This post is in regards to my post Saturday. My own little pity party. I was overwhelmed, hurting and just plain feeling sorry for myself. I'm stronger than that and I know it. Just a moment of weakness. I'm not a quitter. I never have been. I've fought my entire life. Not physically like punch in face fighting, although..... lol just kidding. I've fought for everything I have, everything I've done. That will probably never change. So...

To the haters and their minions, you can unkindly F**K OFF. Maybe if you kept my name out of your mouth threre wouldn't be any drama. Oh and fyi, I do have screenshots and some have been kind enough to tell me things face to face. May want to watch who you tell things to because it does get back to me. I don't care what you're doing in your own Rabbitry. My life is too busy to worry about you. I'm not asking other breeders about your rabbits. I have my own.
Gloves are off. No i won't punch you in the face because I'm better than that. I'll bring the fight to the show tables. I may not walk away with the blue ribbon but I'll know I held my head high and didn't give in or give up. I know what's been said to my face by you and others. . I know what I've read with my own eyes. I also know I'm the better person by turning the other cheek. No more drama. No more backstabbing. If you have a problem with me then don't be children and hide behind others or the keyboard. Say it to my face. This has been nothing but childish bu****it and for what? Almost 2 years I've been dealing with the he said she said and I'm done with it.

To the rest of you, my friends, my followers, the ones who are true to me. I read everything you said on that post. It gave me the strength to pull myself out of that pity party and come out stronger.

To the haters? You can go jump off a bridge. While on all these transport runs I've crossed some big ones and I'm happy to show you where they are. This ends now!

Going to edit this. After the official route is done I have to go back to Oklahoma, possibly Texas and Kansas. So there will be a short route towards the end of Sept. I have a big show here in Missouri Sept 18-20 that I won't miss. Short route would start after that.

Here is a map of states I'll be in.
I'm still recovering from the first half. I'm going to close the route Thursday morning to new stops to give time to plan. I'll be at Grace Hollow this weekend traveling with her to Longview Texas for a show. She has available rabbits and I can bring any back for transport. I can also bring back anything from Longview TX. I've been asked to go to Florida and I will once those are confirmed. I'm meeting Greenbrier Rabbitry in Warsaw MO tomorrow so I can grab more from her. I've also been asked to go back up into Michigan and Wisconsin at the end of the route. I'm willing but need more than 2 passengers to do so. I know this is last min but everybody throws things at me last min lol. I've decided to give myself 1 extra day of rest after the show so I'll start it on Tuesday Sept 8. I don't know days yet of stops until I get more confirmation.

I currently have both bucks in my possession to give them cage space. This youth handles her rabbits alot so both are very sweet and easy to handle. I can bring to Longview TX or they can hop on my south and east transport. To help out her 4H fund and just get these 2 boys into new homes I'm waiving the transport fee. So free delivery to any of my stops.

Nice little Jr buck who didn't want to sit still for pics. His Dam goes back to my original lines of Shoemaker's Frank and has 13 legs! I liked this little bucks sister so much that I bought her. They were part of her meat pen at her fair. He just needs to mature and fill out.

I'm not sure where to start. First off I'll say I will honor my commitments. The route I'm on now and the upcoming east route will still go on. Due to some overwhelming drama that has me seriously considering if I want to stay in this hobby that I dearly love, I'm going to be a ghost for awhile. I will be going to Texas because I already committed to that. I will go to convention because I committed to that also. The rest of the shows? I just don't know at this point. I was originally going to come here to defend myself but I realized there's really no point. People will believe what they want. Between some personal issues, the losses I've had this summer and things that have been thrown at me, I really need to step back and come to a decision on what's best for me. I know some have had my best interests at heart but I'm asking this of you. If you hear something about me, don't tell me. I don't want to know. If you see something from other breeders don't show me. What others do isn't my business and I don't want to know, nor do I care. The rabbit world really is a small world and people talk. Good and bad. I honestly love rabbits. I love going to shows, whether or not I win. I know in my heart how much work I've put into this and my heart breaks just thinking about walking away from it. But in the end is it really worth it? I want to thank those of you who been true friends. It does help knowing I have you. I just need time and my own thoughts.

I just needed to share this because it's spot on! I don't do drama. I don't associate with people that give me drama. We all have breeders we look up to and like. They themselves as people and their stock. Then we all have breeders we don't like, for 1 reason or another.
Like Bobby said, breed your rabbits, show your rabbits, do your thing. But, go home and mind your business. I'm sure there's those that don't like me. That's their problem not mine. I don't think it's very hard to just be nice, even if you don't like someone. It's called being an adult. Most of us aren't teenagers anymore. Act like it.

This post isn’t directed towards any one person, but if the shoe fits 🤷‍♂️ lace em up I reckon 😅. Some of yall show rabbit breeders are too advanced at your big ages to be acting like hormonal high schoolers 😬 with all the drama. It’s really simple: breed your rabbits, take the rabbits to shows, get your lil ribbon and photo taken, go home, mind ya business and repeat 🥴. They’re rabbits after all, not your 7 year old first born that plays travel ball that you are sure they’re gonna make the big leagues 😅. I’m fairly new to this and in my limited amount of experience, some people need to be hosts on The View so they can at least get paid to gossip 🤣.
