Happy heavenly birthday to the inspiration for everything we do here on our farm! As a kid, spending summers with him and Grandma meant learning how to grow something from nothing, how to be a good steward and take care of the land, learning how to fix just about anything (still working on that part), and lots of really hard work that somehow didn’t seem so bad when he was around…
He’d have been 94 years old today, and though he’s moved on to a place where the weather is always fair and there’s always crops in the field, he still holds a special place in our hearts as we try to remember all the things he’s taught us.

First cutting of hay is underway. We will have mixed grass square bales of hay for sale before long.
Sidenote: she cuts hay pretty good (for a girl😂)

Well, we’ve been given the farm managers paw print of approval!! The first round of corn and beans went in the ground today. We’ve asked the Lord to provide rain and just a little bit of luck, and we’ll handle the rest!
Montauk bi-color sweet corn is described as having unmatched flavor and bountiful yields, with an irresistible sweetness… and Blue Lake Bush Beans are a heirloom variety with a sweet and mild taste and a crisp, yet tender texture. Some of our favorites!
Hopefully we’ll see you soon at a market and you can try these varieties for yourself!
