It's dairy day at Farm Camp! We were thrilled to meet Elise the Cow and welcome Mrs Nichole back to Camp Foxfire with the Georgia Mobile Dairy Classroom. We learned about milk's nutrition, processing milk for retail sale, homogenization, and changing states of matter with a hands-on ice cream making experience.

"We got another one!" These kids are SO EXCITED about vegetables!

We had a busy day on the farm! The Harvest Helpers took care of the rabbits and chickens today while the Farm Hands grained and groomed the goats and donkey. Then everyone helped to rotate the pastures and strip the goat shed. We learned about the formation of a chicken egg, chick development, plus candling and grading eggs for market. We whipped some egg whites and made a yummy honey merengue, all before setting up the farm stand! Everyone started a craft with upcycled feed bags and explored working with leather stamping.
We played at the forest playground, modified the tree fort, and watched a black rat snake eat a chicken egg whole!

The farm keeps going whether we’re ready or not.

But 7/9 is the LAST DAY to register for Summer 2026 at Camp Foxfire!

Next week, campers will be living inside the rhythm of the farm—close to the animals, the land, and everything that’s already in motion here.
Then the littles will take their turn, experiencing a half-day camp with their favorite grown up before summer ends.

At Farm Camp the farm doesn’t feel like a backdrop.

It feels like something you are inside of.

Sounds carry differently there. Work and play overlap. Time moves in a way that is shaped by weather, animals, and the land itself.

For a week, campers don’t visit it—they belong to it.

Bucky doesn't know registration is ending.

No matter who joins us for camp, the garden keeps growing.
The bees keep working.
The chickens keep laying.

But enrollment for Farm Camp does end soon.

If your camper would love a week spent inside the rhythm of a real farm, now is the time to join us.
