From sheep to skein… to cake.

Freya’s gorgeous black Shetland wool is halfway through being wound, and I had to stop and appreciate just how beautiful her fiber is. Deep black at first glance, but in the light you can see all those charcoal and silvery tones and the natural texture that makes Shetland wool so special.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking a fleece grown right here on our farm and watching it become yarn, one step at a time.

Grown by Freya. Raised in Alaska. Made by hand.

Now… what should Freya’s wool become?

Our apple orchard is alive and thriving!!! Can’t wait till harvest! Maybe some apple pie? 🥧 🍎

Welcome Helene & Stormenska to the farm!

These beautiful girls are purebred Icelandic ewe lambs, and we're so excited to add them to our flock.
Our Shetlands aren't going anywhere. We'll continue raising and breeding pure Shetland sheep here on the farm. Helene and Stormenska, however, are joining us with a special purpose in mind.

We're working toward introducing something new: "living rugs" beautiful, cruelty-free sheep rugs created by hand-felting the fleece while preserving its natural locks, character, and beauty.

No sheep has to give its life for the rug. Instead, their fleece can be harvested year after year, allowing these girls to simply live their lives here on the farm while helping us create something beautiful, natural, and sustainable.
