Finally finished going through the almost 700 images I took from the solar storm on 3/23-3/24! These are just a few of my favorites! It was an incredible show to watch from the front porch of the homestead! Blessed to live somewhere with so much nature right out the front door!

My goal is to wake up every morning and feel overwhelmingly grateful about the kind of life I’m creating for myself.
I’m thankful for warm homemade bread, fresh out of the oven. For cozy winter days with softly falling snow and muffled silence. For crisp, clear nights spent watching Mother Nature’s light show, being serenaded by the voices of singing coyotes. For fuzzy horses with snowflakes on their eyelashes, munching away. For a lovely flock of hardy chickens and their colorful eggs. For seeds sprouting from the soil and spring on the horizon. For this land and it’s wildlife, and for sunsets ❤️

Handmade winter healing and nourishing salve! Winters here in Alaska are so dry, and it always wreaks havoc on my skin! Organically grown chamomile and calendula from the garden, plus wild rose hips foraged from the forest on the homestead lend healing, moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. It has a multitude of uses, but keeps my hands and skin from getting dry and chapped during the long winter! I’m looking forward to trying out a few new salves this year! 🌼🌹

Last year at Thanksgiving I decided I wanted to raise my own poultry for the freezer.
Yesterday we feasted on the first home grown turkey to grace our Thanksgiving table!
I’m thankful for the food that nourishes me, the roof over my head, the friends, family and loved ones who warm my heart, this homestead and what it provides and all the opportunities I’ve been given during the past year. Thankful and blessed for this life and those in it!! 🦃❤️

It’s safe to say winter is here in Alaska! The first measurable snowfall was yesterday and oh boy did it dump! It started at 1PM and by 10PM we had 10”! Commence the snow plowing, snow blowing and shoveling routine! By the time I woke up this morning, the total was up to 15”! It sure is a pretty winter wonderland though!! ❄️
