Good morning Happy Valley Peeps and fans elsewhere,
Today, as most of you know, will be the last day Happy Valley Store will be open. Please come down and pick up your last-minute spirits and groceries to end the new year. Say hi to our long-standing staff. Share a story or two. Take a look around and remember the good times.
The Happy Valley business has been here for your needs well before Cathie purchased the business. An end of an era has arrived. Like many businesses, we are too small, and we can't compete with the bigger stores. Our sales have consistently been going down with the opening of larger businesses in neighboring communities. We have always focused on the locals, and we hope we helped to serve your needs.
Cathie opened this business over two decades ago, and within that time she had it for sale for many years. With her passing and handing it over to her only son, he continued operations for another two years. But, the business continued to be for sale. It has been difficult to make any type of profit (for many years). We are sad to say goodbye, but it's time to pull the band aid. So, we hope to see something else great in its place in the near future.
Please feel free to leave a memory or a comment below, and let's remember the time when renting movies on a Friday night and grabbing some snacks was all the rage.
