We've been quiet here lately, but we're still working away.

We have spoons in the persimmon seeds, and had 3 heavy fogs in August, so that means snow! Which means we're working in the hay field to get more stocked in the barn for this winter

It's raining okra here at the farm! $4/lb, but if you buy 3 pounds it's only $10.

We like to bread it, and freeze it on a cookie sheet to have amazing okra in the winter

Meet Musky, short for muscadine, because he wandered up when we were picking muscadines and followed us around. For some reason, he LOVES playing with green beans and snuggles with corn. You can't hear it, but he's purring.

Regardless of how Musky feels about corn, we have silver queen sweet corn for sale! 2/$1, or $5 a whole dozen. Edit: sold out!

(The corn has not been sprayed with pesticides so you may find a bug at the top of the ears. That's not a bad thing. If a bug doesn't want your food, you don't want it either!)

We are officially on a temporary hiatus. We're taking the kids to scout camp this week and will be unavailable for beef and vegetables.

Coming soon: Green beans, hopefully some blue berries, maybe some wild blackberries, tomatoes, squash, zucchini, and okra!
