When we were house shopping for horse properties in Texas almost two years ago I noticed a couple of things..

If the house was nice the horse amenities were ghetto & if the horse portion met my standards the house was….. gross & needed serious TLC.

Look on Zillow for the fun of it and you’ll notice a common theme. One would think finding a horse property in Texas would be easy. It wasn’t. Though we did have specific needs that needed to be met.

As I documented this journey on TikTok a pretty cool Betty from Texas messaged me and said call me… so obviously I did and she gave us a different perspective. Essentially, she told us to buy a decent house with land and build what we want.. and after telling my husband about that conversation that’s exactly what we did..

He however was one step ahead of me. I just needed to hear it from a fellow horse girl to be on board with the concept.

So, though it’s taken us a year to get here.. it’s been well worth it and a do love a good side by side comparison just to see exactly how far we’ve come or… should I say how far my husband has come with as much assistance as I could’ve provided last summer bc my horse fell on me and I was bum on the couch for a month 🤪

Sometimes…. Asking questions on the book pays off. IMO there’s no such thing as an embarassing question. In fact, I’m pretty sure my conversations with anyone in real life are 75% me asking questions 💁🏻‍♀️
