Debbie found this really, really small lizard in our backyard today and pointed him out to me. I quickly switched camera lens and added on my close up lens.
I took the first photo with an ISO setting of 100 and that made the R5 camera adjust my shutter speed to 1/10 of a second. That is really hard to get an infocus photo with a 100mm lens, but I was able to hold these old arms steady enough to capture the photo. :-)

If you can, enlarge to full view. It reallys shows the lizard's eye and body details well.

As most of you here know, Debbie and I have many various types of bird feeders in our backyard, and we are able to attract a lot of colorful and busy birds. The yard is always full of birds singing, bathing in our water features, or flying around to the various feeders.

Some birds, like the House Finches and Northern Cardinals are content to just stay at the feeder of their choice and eat the various nuts and berries that are there for them. However, other birds, such as the Carolina Chickadee and the Black-crested Titmouse, prefer to quickly grab their treat and fly away to a nearby tree branch. There, they will place their treat, usually a sunflower, on the branch, holding it with their claws and then pecking on it until they are able to remove the nut inside.

Here is such an episode that plays out daily and throughout the day. This Black-creasted Titmouse is a Juvenile, as it lacks the distinguishing black marking on its head.

From feeder to tree branch and then from tree branch to feeder all throughout the day, the industrious birds continue their routines!

It was a little difficult to get a clear shot of the Titmouse, as the tree branches seemed to always be between him and me.

Our Walking Ducks are now in our front yard!

We have many, many male and female redbirds(Cardinals) in our backyard and they are busy bathing and eating throughout the day.

Here is a pair of redbirds that I photographed yesterday. The male redbird is feeding the female redbird.

As I mentioned before, we have a resident Summer Tanager in our backyard. Today I was able to photograph him at my big fruit and nut cylinder. He was going after what appears to be cranberries or something close to it. Debbie and I hear him all the time in our backyard.
We are really enjoying the various species of birds that we feed and water in our backyard and they are always busy.

I will be posting some photos later of a redbird pair. The male appears to be feeding the female.

While sitting on my backyard patio today and watching the bird activity, this Northern Cardinal flew up, landed on a wire near me, and began to sing.

I quickly changed me camera setting from photo to video and began to record his song.

I wish I had my camera mounted shotgun audio mic on my camera, but you work with what you have.

Debbie and I were having breakfast on our back patio this morning and as is most of the time, I had my camera setting on my tripod. There were birds flying, landing, drinking water, and eating from our feeds all around the yard.

This one Tufted Titmouse flew up and landed on a chain that holds one of our feeders. He was super close and I was able to capture a few photos.

Tufted Titmouse: Eats insects, spiders, snails, various berries, acorns, and seeds. Forages in trees, sometimes upside down. Readily eats suet, sunflowers seeds and peanuts. (iBird Pro app)

I just setup a new Brome SquirrelBuster Peanut Feeder in our backyard and I hope they find it soon.
