Sheller Farms

Sheller Farms We are a family owned and operated farm.

Our family has been located in the same
location since 1865 making us a Hoosier Homestead farm that is now being managed
by the sixth and seventh generation. We strive ourselves on forward farming practices
pushing to raise more food into the future for the growing demand of our planet.

I will say I have seen some cool stuff in my life, but watching our community come together to help us find our missing calf was next level! All the offers of help, people driving around looking, and without a doubt the drone scanning that ultimately found her! Our friend was relentless in his quest to see her found safe! We were blessed to have an amazing crew with Clay Norris litterally releasing the hounds to track her and pull her into the clearing to be roped. It all happened so fast in less than 30 min she was safe and sound on the trailer! You guys are top notch!! She is safe and sound back with the herd. I love living in a small town and having such great friends!

Not every day is perfect, but it seems to be a little bit better when Grandpa makes his way out for a ride. At 96 if there is a will there is a way! God took Dad way too early, but he blessed us with a long time with Grandpa. He shared his first harvest stories which I had heard many times and enjoyed them like they were the first time he told me. He would take one row and his dad would take 2…. As he watched us harvest in an hour what it took all season to pick by hand. I don’t think you could have wiped the smile off his face as he drove back home. God is so very good! One of the men I admire most in this world said he admired how much I do with my kids. I could tell as life continues and the end gets closer than the beginning he continues to evaluate what was important and wanted me to know. He has had immense financial success and has a beautiful family, but if you’re measuring don’t worry about the money…. Worry about the family. So I coached football this fall…. Not because I had to, but because Luke wanted me to…. I had an absolute blast and made some new friends along the way! I got to see Davanee cheer and man is she cute!(I’m in trouble)…. I watched my shorty continue to grind on the soccer field in multiple games and she now has a real boyfriend talking on the phone in the evenings. They are growing up so fast and we only have a short time with them as kids so I choose to be at everything possible! Today is Homecoming so we will turn off the combines and go watch them in the parade and come back…. We will shut it down tomorrow with 5 sporting events and fire it up on Sunday after church because the work has to be done. I choose to grow the business so we can get them all back home when they get old enough if they want to, but I’m not going to miss them growing up along the way! Tears of the week…. Luke chose to come ride with me and at the end of the day hopped in with Mamaw for a ride home. On the way Mamaw asked if he had fun and might want to be a farmer someday…. His reply…. Mamaw it is my dream. Life is amazing! Enjoy the time you have with your kids! Happy Friday!

Super busy day on the Sheller Farms yesterday! Adam finished planting beans, Ruben and Mamaw (Sherry Sheller)went into tag team mode to stay ahead of me in corn planter, Max was able to focus on just tending corn planter since bean planter was finished, I planted corn, and since we were still at it Adam Sheller took part of the day to show some South Korean grain buyers around the farm. With all of this Kurt Robison made some tank sales and called on customers about fertilizer, Lacey Sheller and Caitie Godfrey packed the last of our Memorial Day bundles for Sheller Family Foods! What a busy day, but a full and successful one! We move in a lot of directions, but my team is amazing! With luck today we finish corn and move on to some replant and spraying! God is good! I’m sure there was even more happening that I didn’t even know about!🥰🤣😁

One of my favorite traditions we seem to have over spring break is hauling animals to the butcher together…. She keeps getting bigger, I keep getting grayer, the conversations keep getting more about real life, and I continue to enjoy it more and more every time. I love you Shorty. Thank you for choosing me! 5:30 wake up on spring break…. I think she loves her daddy.😁
