Well… the farm is officially on pause. 🐔🌾

The coyotes unfortunately won the battle and we lost most of our flock, so we’ve decided to rehome the chickens we have left.

Add in a toddler, another baby on the way, and the general chaos of life… and we figured it’s probably time to take a little break from farm life.

Thank you guys for following along through all the chickens, chaos, and questionable decisions 😂

Not goodbye forever… just see ya later! 🌾❤️

Meet our Chicken of the Week: “Naruto” 🐔💨✨

This white Easter Egger hen is absolutely unhinged in the best way possible. She runs everywhere like she’s late for a very important mission—head down, full speed… full Naruto-run energy across the farm 😂💨

Trying to take her picture is basically a workout because she refuses to slow down long enough to pose 📸💀

And the funniest part? After all that chaos… she casually lays the most beautiful blue-green eggs like it’s nothing 🥚💙💚

Goofy, fast, dramatic, and a little legendary. That’s Naruto for you 🐓✨

🥚🌿 Tiny eggs, big excitement! 🌿🥚

Our very first quail eggs are here and I honestly can’t get over how adorable they are 😍🐥 The speckles, the tiny size… nature is just too cool sometimes.

We’re so excited to start this little quail adventure on the farm 🤎 Who else loves these little spotted gems? ✨

🐔 Chicken of the Week: Geep 🐔

This week’s “chicken” is… still very much a goose.
Meet Geep, our skittish little sweetheart at Rood’s Ranch 🪿💛

She startles at everything… unless there’s food involved—then suddenly she’s the bravest bird in the yard.

• Personality: shy, sensitive, snack-motivated
• Social setting: “don’t mind me”… until snacks appear
• Favorite activity: cautious lurking → full sprint for treats
• Honk review: nervous… but passionate

Geep had a tough year after losing her siblings, so we’re extra soft with her these days 🥺
But she has something really special coming…

In a couple weeks, she’ll be getting five new goslings to watch over, and we’re pretty sure she’s about to step into her ✨mother era✨

Honestly? We’re rooting for her.

Be honest… are you the cautious one or the snack-motivated brave one? 👀

okay but why are they kind of serving?? 🥚💅

Tomorrow's egg orders are headed out:
• 1 dozen of the prettiest farm fresh eggs
• 1 jumbo dozen (she’s a little overachiever 😂)

from Rood’s Ranch in Noblesville, IN

we take a lot of pride in our eggs—clean, fresh, and straight from happy hens 💛
(no store comparison needed… you can see the difference 👀)

we’re still a growing farm, but everything is handled with care and consistency 🥚

anyway… the girls really showed out for this batch 😂✨

🦤🐥 current farm chaos at Rood’s Ranch

guinea is screaming like it’s her full-time job (because it is) 🥲
baby chicks and the little geese are enjoying their first day outside!♥️

just a little transparency: our setup is still very much a “working farm in progress”

we use a secure 10x10 kennel space for the flock when they’re not free-ranging, and a separate coop just for laying—nothing is permanent as we continue building things out 🐔

everything is rotated, cleaned, and used based on what stage the birds are in, and they spend a lot of time out roaming during the day 🥚

we’re sharing the real process as we grow—not a perfect Pinterest farm, just a real one 🫶

anyway… enjoy the guinea commentary in the background 🦤😂

🐥💛 NEW BABY CHICKS ON THE FARM! 💛🐥

We’ve got 5 fluffy new additions at Rood’s Ranch and they are already running the place (unsupervised) 🥹

Meet the crew:
• ☕ Cocoa Espresso (x2)
• 🍯 Cinnamon Queen
• 💛 Buff Orpington (x2)

And yes… we already know who the rooster is 😭🪶
He has main character energy and absolutely zero awareness of how small he is right now.

They’re fluffy, loud, dramatic, and acting like rent is due daily.

We still need NAME IDEAS!! 👇
Drop your best suggestions—cute, funny, chaotic, or slightly unhinged 😂
