Rain! Power outage! That won’t stop me!
The stand is open this morning with tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and eggs. The garden is winding down and fall squash is still coming along nicely.
Forecast today is rainstorms mid morning. We’ll try to stay open through it but if the winds are strong we may have to close early. So avoid the rain and come early.

Good morning!
The stand is open. We are offering bell peppers, banana peppers (mild in heat, full in flavor), jalapeno peppers (hot in heat, full of flavor), and poblano peppers. There are tomatoes (all sizes). Nice slicers. Good and firm.
There is a $1 section for some basket items. Scarce on the eggs, I think we are starting to molt.
We have tomatillo baskets. There are enough tomatillo in each basket to make a nice batch of salsa verde.

It’s a Peppa-pa-looza stand day!
We have other produce but peppers are dominating the stand.
The last of the melons are out. Patty pan squash is at the end of its season. We have (banana, bell, jalapeno)peppers, leeks and cherry tomatoes. The slicers are just beginning to ripen, there are a couple out there.
As the season winds down fall produce will appear. Up and coming are still eggplant, acorn squash, tomatoes, butternut and buttercup squash, and this year…Delecata.
Come on out and take a glimpse at what is there.

Good morning!
The stand is open. Today we have melons, cherry tomatoes (slicers are starting to ripen), red onions, bell peppers, banana peppers and jalapeno, yellow zucchini, patty pan, eggs, cukes, green and yellow beans. The last bit of jam and jelly before I make more and honey. Not a bad day for a drive around to the local farm stands.

Good morning!
The stand is up and filled with green beans. Yes, the green beans flourished in this humid weather. There are a couple melons, they are slowly turning ripe but they are sweet. It’s the cantaloupe first, honeydew are still trying to decide whether they want to ripen or not. This is the last week for cucumbers and zucchini. The patty pan squash are just right for stuffed squash. Red onions, leeks and cherry tomatoes round off the produce. Eggs, jams and honey are out as well.
It’s going to be another warmish day, hope to see you out.

After a brief time away Farmer Marie is back. Today we have cherry tomatoes, not too many because they just started ripening, green beans, leeks, onions (mostly red), potatoes, eggs (2 coolers), zucchini, patty-pan squash (good for stuffing), and cucumbers (slightly on the big size, but small seed cavity and sweet).
Jams and honey.

Marie and Ron just got back from a short trip to Michigan, and since we didn't have a chance to harvest anything the Moose Acres farm stand won't be open today.
We suggest instead you check out the second instance of the Nokesville Farmer's Market today at the old Nokesville Elementary and visit other local farm stands such as Sunshine Honey Farm on Lonesome Road.
We should be back to normal next week. Hope to see you then.

The farm stand is open again, even while Marie continues her trip to see our daughter and her family. Today we're awash in zucchini and cucumbers, and we still have some kale, beets, garlic, onions, daikon radish, potatoes, eggs, jam, and honey. And this week I've got some chard out FOR FREE! For the past four weeks no one has wanted the chard, so the chickens get it. If it goes, I'll keep replenishing it. So come out and enjoy a smoky day at your local farm stand!

Thanks for everyone who came out early today, July 4th, while the produce still looked fresh. The stand is closed, but we still have honey and jam if you come up to the house.
