This weekends menu! We are busy milling flour and baking all your favorites today!

If you missed out on oatmeal cream pies last week we doubled the amount this week, but I still recommend getting here early if you are wanting to try those! Remember we do things a little different around here and we stuff ours with homemade marshmallow cream! They are so good!

Everything is made in small batches with fresh quality ingredients! Nothing we stock at the farmstand is something I wouldnt feel good about feeding my own family. Only the best 👌

All the recipes we use are recipes we've been using for years and are family favorites!

Our girls have opened a self serve farmstand Wing and a Prayer Farmstand . They are open Friday-Sunday 9am-7pm

They will be starting small and be adding in new things every weekend hopefully. They have lots of good things they want to stock. Handmade goods, farm fresh eggs, flowers, plant starts, produce, fresh milled flour baked goods, ect.

This will be self serve style, there is a money box to put cash in and ill have venmo info down there as well.

They are excited and looking forward to it. If you need info on where to find it send me a message. If you know where we live its just east of the house by the pasture. 😉 Don't worry there are plenty of cameras so even though we wont be at the stand there is eyes on it at all times.

End of the month so that means its time for us to total our eggs for the month. One of my goals this year is to do better at keeping track of how much goods we produce here. We know its a lot but I think it will be cool to see the numbers at the end of the year.

We did this before and it was a hit so we are doing it again.

The girls have lots of eggs up for grabs from their feral free range chickens.

The chickens are loving this weather and the girls have been working their tails off collecting eggs multiple times a day. The chickens have full access to, well wherever they want honestly 😂. They spend their days causing chaos, eating bugs, ticks, snakes, mice, and my gardens. They are eating well around here, and only the best.

We are getting roughly 40 eggs daily and someone thought it would be a good idea to hatch out a batch and has 20 more in the brooder. Its me, im someone 😂. I dont even like chickens, not that you can tell looking around. So anyway come get some eggs so I dont have to butcher some and force feed my red meat loving family some chicken 😂

PS. In the coming weeks, lord willing, we will be making some changes, which will, I hope, benefit everyone. So stay tuned for more convenient for everyone to grab what they need plus some other fun stuff. 😉😉

We are growing!
When opening the beehive for the first time this spring I was amazed with how full it was. Every inch was covered in bees. I was so worried they wouldnt make it through winter, between getting them late in the year last year and me not really knowing what Im doing 😂. But they did! When inspecting I noticed some swarm cells, so a few weeks ago I decided to pull some frames and make a split. Essentially giving them more room so they dont swarm.

I pulled a couple frames of brood in all stages (fresh eggs, larva, capped brood) as well as a frame with a capped queen cell on it and put those into a nuc box. I also made sure I had plenty of resources for them, pollen, lecture, honey all the thing. Put the lid on the box and prayed for the best.

I put some empty frames into the orgional hive to replace the frames I removed. This allowing them to get to work on drawing out comb on those frames for resources and brood. I checked both boxes frequently just to make sure everyone was happy. Truth be told I was terrified I messed everything up. But to my surprise everything went well.

After being in the nuc box for a couple weeks, today was the day I moved them into their own box. Fingers crossed they make the adjustment and are happy in their new home and get right to work.

This has been a super fun project. Im sure someone reading this will say I did something wrong and maybe I did. But it worked and thats all I care about. There is a million and one ways to do just about anything and honestly if it works, it works.

If you are looking for a push to jump into something new here it is. You arent going to learn if you dont go for it!
