When we first got our chickens I was so worried about stressing them out. What if they stop laying and then we don’t have eggs? What if they turn cannibal because their little systems are out of sync?

Then Drakey came along and said “Hold my chocolate milk, Momma”

Our chickens are just fine, this child is making memories, and we have tasty eggs for days. Let us know who needs a couple dozen!!

Brief time out for this show stopper, one of my selling points on this house. It is my absolute favorite time of the year. Hoping the weather holds out for us to enjoy it just a little bit longer 💗

Who else is hard boiling today for Easter??

Only in Iowa do we go from warm sunny days working in the garden to re-winterizing for a late season blizzard!

The chickens received copious amounts of fresh new bedding, food, and water to prepare for the possibility of one (or both of us) having to stay in town. They are absolutely thrilled.

That being said…where are our home bakers at??More importantly, who is going to need more eggs because they’re going to be baking up a storm (haha get it??) this weekend?!?!

No free rides around here!! Weather was a bit cold this weekend so Drakey helped put eggs in cartons and practiced his counting. He’s learning gentle hands while he handles the eggs…

…now if only he could learn the chickens prefer calmness in the coop! 🤣
