Thanks Matt for purchasing this young ram lamb with lots of potential! Fett 2926N is his sire and Fett 2848M is his dam. He also tested H1/H1 on the OPP gene check.

1,453 miles round trip and my 2 new rams from Canada are home in Iowa. My Dad kept me company and we roughed it a night in Canada before bringing them home.

These are my 2 new AI sired Ile-De-France rams that I purchased Saturday!

Very joyful day for me because all 84 of my ewes are now on grass. Also all 84 are 100% IDF registered stock imported from Canada or the offspring of them as I sold all the other ewes earlier this week. I also have 59 ewe lambs from them to potentially keep in the flock. This completes my goal of owning nothing but 100% IDF registered animals. The bonus is they are all RR and OPP free. Did anyone notice the rams in with the ewes? Since 2022 when I imported them, this is the first time I am exposing them for Fall lambing.

Lambing is over! The ewe with the bloody back end just lambed at 1 day past 12 months old to put a wrap on the year. The 20 that lambed at 14 months old had a 135% lambing rate and the 4 that lambed at 12 months old had a 100% lambing rate. It is definitely a benefit to let them mature for 2 more months before breeding them.
