We have set hours only during the plant sale, which is typically 3 days a week for 9 to 10 weeks in the Spring. Fruit sales occur based on each fruit's ripening schedule and posts will be made regarding availability. Home Food Production Spring Plant Sale - March to May

FALL PLANT SALE (DATES TBD)
In keeping with the idea of selling the right plants to you at the right time of the year, we will be doing a Fall plant sale once again. Instead of preorders this year though we are planning to be open 3-4 select weekends. The opening weekend date will be fully dependent upon the weather (but likely late October/early November). More details will be provided shortly. Meanwhile, the list of plants we have started is below (except strawberries, which we purchase bare root):

2026 GARDENING | NORCO FAIR ANNUAL COMMUNITY COMPETITION
Hope everyone has enjoyed (or are still enjoying) your summer harvest. We wanted to share that we used shade screen this year and our plants are producing fruit longer than in prior years. (We’re still getting tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and squash.) We’ve also not experienced sun scald on our tomatoes or peppers. So we are recommending considering shade screen (with 30-40% light reduction) for growing in the hot months of the year in the future.

Don’t forget about this year’s Norco Fair Annual Community Competition! Enter your produce in this year's Norco Fair for some friendly competition and possible bragging rights! Last year we won some blue ribbons along with a few of our customers. There is no cost to enter fruits and vegetables. All other categories are $3 for kids, $5 for adults. FINAL WEEKEND | PUMPKIN PLANT GIVEAWAY!
We still have pumpkin plants left from last weekend’s giveaway - Carving, Jarrahdale, Lumina, Jack Be Little and Musquee de Provence (see 5/28 post for details). We are giving away 4” potted pumpkin plants while supplies last (one per person). NO PURCHASE IS REQUIRED! We just thought it would be fun to get people growing pumpkins this year. 😊

PUMPKIN PLANT GIVEAWAY!
In an effort to be sure people are getting their pumpkins started early enough to be ready for the Fall season, we decided to do a pumpkin plant giveaway this year.

As a quick education for those who don’t know, pumpkins are associated with the Fall season because they are a winter (or storage) squash, meaning they traditionally provide food in the winter months. This is in comparison to something like a zucchini which is a summer squash eaten fresh and cannot be stored long term.

This year we are giving away 4” potted pumpkin plants while supplies last (one per person). NO PURCHASE IS REQUIRED! We just thought it would be fun to get people growing pumpkins this year. 😊 (Feel free to send photos to [email protected]!)

Carving - The classic pumpkin for carving.

Jarrahdale – This pumpkin is from Australia, where the majority of pumpkins are actually a similar blue hue, rather than orange. The pumpkin is deeply ribbed and the orange flesh has been called one of the best for pumpkin pies. 6-10 pounds (though it may grow up to 20).

Lumina - White skinned pumpkin with a smooth texture and sweet flavor. Developed for ornamental and culinary purposes, Lumina is a favorite among gardeners and chefs. 10-20 pounds.

Jack Be Little - This tiny pumpkin fits into the palm of your hand. Flat and ribbed.

Musquee de Provence - Large, flat pumpkin shaped like a large wheel of cheese. It is heavily lobed and ribbed. The flesh is deep orange, thick, and very fine flavored. Grows to about 20 pounds.

Seminole - The small fruits of this variety are sweeter than Butternut and have firm, deep-orange flesh that can keep up to one year at room temperature! We had one customer tell us she had 22 fruits from one plant!

WEEK 9 OF 11 | PEPPER SPOTLIGHT
We’re on week 9 out of 11 and the pepper plants are looking gorgeous so we wanted to spotlight a few:

Banana (photos from 2025): We have two types - hot or sweet. They’re prolific producers and great for pickling, salads and salsas.

Black Hungarian Cross (photo from 2023): Extra large, thick-walled jalapeño type pepper developed here at the Farm on 7th. Somewhat spicy. Harvest at late green or red stage. Good producer.

Shish*to (photo from 2025): Baker Creek says this about the Shish*to "C'mon, take a chance! It's like Pepper Roulette! It's a pepper unlike any other. Most grow mild, but sometimes one gets a little wild." These are used for appetizers, fried in oil with a little seasoning. The plants are excellent producers and ornamental with a long season.

PLANT SALE WEEK 8 OF 11
It’s week 8 of 11 and we have a great selection of plants remaining. We added spearmint and peppermint and many of the varieties of tomato plants already have fruit!

For those of you new to our microfarm, our goal is to provide low-cost, healthy plants for home food production along with education for anyone who would like some help in their gardening endeavors. Greg grows pretty much everything himself from seeds or slips, so you know it will work for your garden as well. If we’re selling the plant, it’s in season for our area.
