I debated on whether I should have kept back a buckling this year, but I decided to raise this boy up here a little while longer. So without further ado, here is…

Evergreen Acres One Bit Wonder 🎤🎶⭐️

This buckling is out of our doe, Wilson’s Ranch Lil’ Bit of Heaven and by our buck, Soaring Heart’s Jet Boy Blue *B. He is also a littermate to our only Jet doeling (so far), Evergreen Acres Lil’ Bit of Rita and maternal sibling to Wilson’s Ranch Lotta Bit. This boy has a fair amount of potential, so our plan for him is to evaluate him as he develops and enter him in a few shows. For now he will stay, but he may be softly for ⛵️ as a buck prospect to the right program in the future.

Now all that is left for this sweet lil guy is a barn name! We’d like to give him a pop star/music related name that fits his registered name (and personality). Feel free to leave suggestions in the comments! 😉🥰

Look at the rear leg structure on this girl! Lassie and our other junior doelings are really starting to grow out of their awkward weanling phase and I’m loving it! 😍

Our junior does had their first trip to the milk stand! They all spent about 10 minutes on the stand and did so well! The temperament and willingness of these girls makes me excited for when they will (eventually) freshen! Keep an eye out for breeding/kidding schedule announcements as our breeding season comes to an end. Some of these does will have full siblings coming this February! 👀🥰

Lots of moving around here! The breeding groups were rearranged to hopefully prevent anymore unnecessary stress for their humans 🫠 Things seem to be settling down and back to how they should be. Looks like Pokey and his girls are happy to have the largest pen (and lots of crunchy leaves)🥰

Magazine ✨🐑🐐

I absolutely love the registered dairy goat community, and, through a show sheep friend on FB, I've was introduced to the show sheep community and really love learning/watching/reading about it! So, I wanted to create a place that celebrated both of these industries, the breeders, shows, news, and all the different aspects of registered dairy goats and registered show sheep!

Please know that I'll be tweaking the magazine and its website as I go, to make it even better, so your patience/kindness is appreciated!!

🤍What it is: A magazine dedicated to promoting and advocating for the registered dairy goat and registered sheep communities/industries. A place to showcase and appreciate the hard work of the breeders of both registered show dairy goats and sheep.

✏️What's in it: News, information, important/trending topics, sponsors section (business or farm), shows, submitted photos, judge interviews, and (my personal favorite!) highlighting one dairy goat herd and one sheep flock via an interview in each issue!

🗓️How frequent it is: I'm planning on having a monthly issue come out. For example, August issue will publish in September; September Issue will publish in October; October Issue will publish in November, etc.

🔆More to know: Right now, the magazine has only a digital version, meaning you will be virtually flipping the magazine's pages through a link. However, in the future, I am going to add a physical mail-to-you version!

🙋‍♀️Who's behind it: Lauren Wrobel an AG. college student, who is an ADGA, MDGA, ANDDA, and Maryland Dairy Goat Association member, currently managing an ADGA/MDGA show herd of ND dairy goats.

What started as just two goats, grew into a show herd of registered dairy goats and a passion for me!
From showing and milking, to genetic research and planning, I enjoy it all! It’s no longer a hobby, but a lifestyle I couldn’t imagine my life without🥹

In a chain of events that shocks no one, Daisy and Karen squeezed their way through the fence to get in with Pokey yesterday. To make matters worse, still no confirmed Mini Nubian breedings as a result of these distracting (and forbidden) love interests. Guess it’s time to pull out the lutalyse AND maximum security fence. This goat breeder is over it 🙃😑

Not a setback I wanted but I’m glad we started earlier than last year. Hopefully, we can bring breeding season back to its normal amount of chaos and let the rest fall into place as usual 🫠🤞🏻
