When it's cold (very cold) and a snowy winter, what else is there to do besides plowing? Build a outhouse of course, in our warm barn. Self contained with lights, bead board interior, stained T&G wooden cathedral ceiling and yes....heat! Sorry folks.. No A/C. Justin and I had some fun building this one. We can also move it around the farm as needed. Great for events too! No more frozen seats! We always thought there had to be a better way other than a Porta John. I think we found it.

We were asked if we could supply a tree to symbolize the milestone of installing the last beam on a new school. It was difficult to find a tree with all of our trees buried in snow, but we found one and dug one out for the new school in Cumberland. A tradition for Consigli builders is to top the last beam to go up with a tree. We were glad to help, especially because many of our customers are from Cumberland. Congratulation on your new school! Often asked what do we do in the off season. There may never be a off season on a farm! But since it's cold outside, Justin and I are taking apart our 1959 Farmall Cub tractor to rebuild it. It just may be used for our new venture on the farm once it's rebuilt, we will keep you informed. No we are not going to stop growing trees. We keep finding more to repair and take apart, now not much left than the motor. Let's see if we can put it back together!

Your fresh Christmas tree spent years in the field offering protection for birds and other wildlife while waiting to be displayed in your home. Occasionally some deer would browse them too😭. Before you throw your tree in the compost, leave it in a corner of the backyard. It will offer protection to birds, rabbits and other wildlife. Maybe even the deer will eat the tree instead of your plants. One of the pictures is of 4 deer (there are two cuddled together behind the tree) this afternoon at the farm, just taking a break. The other is from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife. They offer you some ideas on repurposing your tree until spring. Give it a try if you have the room until spring compost. Please make sure all non editable items are removed.

Some beautiful pictures with Santa this past weekend. We convinced Santa to be here the weekend after Thanksgiving next year! Justin may try to convince Santa to load trees...that would be a sight to see. Merry Christmas to all who visited this past weekend and when everyone left, the farm becomes home to the deer and other wildlife.
