I will be having my lambs processed either near the end of December or into January.

I have available 2 lambs and 1 mutton lamb

Lamb: Meat from young sheep (under one year old) More expensive, More tender, milder flavor

Mutton: Meat from mature sheep (over 2 years old) (MINE IS UNDER 2 YEARS OLD) Tougher, requires slow cooking, Stronger flavor.

You can buy either a half or a whole lamb.

These lambs have been grass raised, grass finished. The hay that they are fed during the winter is what I put up from my fields. Most of the year they are in the fields eating grass.

Deposits for a whole lamb is $75 for a half of lamb is $38.

You pay me for the hanging weight of the lamb and you pay the processor for the processing of the lamb. Price for the lamb is $5.75 lb hanging weight. For the older mutton lamb price would be $4.00 lb.
(that would be about $300 for a young lamb (usually between 50-60 lbs) and about $280 for the mutton lamb (guessing 65-75 lbs)

Thank Goodness for help, if it wasn't for Brian and Matt this would not have happened. I now have George's daughter's with Mo (short for Malono) and George the old ram is with his harem. I had a close call with Mo a few days before this, he apparently got himself in a bad position, where he could not get up and I found him with his legs up in the air, at first I thought he was dead. I kept pushing him to get him up, it took awhile before he was normal, he is still dirty from the sand hole he was in. It appears that he fully recovered in time to enjoy all his new girlfriends. [PS. I am looking for younger people who want to farm with me--lots of good things happening and improvements are always being made.]

Farm Progress. There are three fields here. The highest one on the hill was planted with an alfalfa grass mix in the spring. The middle one was planted with the same about 2 years ago. Where the tractor sits that field is being worked up right now, and will be planted soon. The goal is to have great pastures and hay production.

Things I find when I am checking fences late at night. Frog in a sheep water tank and a spider making a web. I wanted to video the spider, but whenever I shined the light on the spider it stopped, when I removed the light it started making the web again.
