My name is Mikey, I’m 5 but I’m going to be 6 soon. I have 23 chickens that lay eggs. 10 Australorps, 5 Plymouth Rocks, 4 Bluebells, 3 Rhode Island Red’s and 1 White Leg Horn. They free range, protected by my two dogs called Rosco and Vegas.
They spend their days running around with me, hanging out mostly with our pigs and sometimes following me almost down to our cows. Our cats are more scared of the chickens than they are of them! They live a happy life, getting mealworms, leftover chips, bread, watermelon and eating all the bugs they can. We have a lot of bugs so they stay full a lot.
I want to save my money from eggs to buy a rooster and have baby chicks to sell or maybe to raise I don’t know yet. I have 5 dozen eggs right now that are available for $5 a dozen. I will keep asking my mom to tell everyone when I have more. Thank you, I’m excited!
