It was a beautiful day to spend in Amish Country!
Today's adventure took us to Holmes County. Scenery, thrifting, food, and laughs!
Have you been to the Hartville Thrift Store? We went to it's "cousin" The Save and Serve Thrift in Millersburg. Not nearly as big as Hartville, but very nice!
We had lunch at Mrs. Yoder's Kitchen. I have been coming here for over thirty years! Vicki loves their mashed potatoes and noodles. Their pies are phenomenal and we always bring some home for later!
We walked through Heini's Cheese Chalet and Troyer Market. You'll always find interesting items at shops like these!
There is SO MUCH more to do in Holmes County! You would need a week to see everything in this county, but an afternoon is good, too.

Dale & I took a long weekend and explored two counties this weekend: Pike and Ross
We stayed at a lovely cabin in Beaver, Ohio. It really is in the middle of nowhere, it's comfortable, and the four-legged greeters were our favorite! 🐾
We ate at Sully's TWICE and spent an evening at Dogwood Pass.
We explored Downtown Chillicothe, shopped in their little stores, and found some great antique and thrift stores!
The back road were insane, and I learned that Dale is really not a fan of off-roading. 🤭
Good trip! Good aDVentures!

aDVenture #10 - Crawford County

We hit DOUBLE DIGITS today in Crawford County!
Dale has stayed healthy and is almost back to 100%, so we gave it a shot.
Lunch at Baker's Pizza Sports Shack in Bucyrus. SO GOOD! A fun environment (O-H), service was fantastic, and the food is DELICIOUS! 🥄🥄🥄🥄🥄
Right across the street is the most amazing mural that I have ever seen. Breathtaking. We could have stared for hours.
Down the street from the first mural, we found another. So big, and so perfect! It's on a building with a little park beside it. I bet it's a busy place in the summer.
We found several nice shops in the area as well. Cute downtown streets in Bucyrus and Galion. I can see us going back!
Right outside of Bucyrus is The Pickwick Place. If you're in the area, GO! Fun place for gifts and unique food items. The employees were telling us all about their fun, summer events. Check it out!
Directly across the street from there is Crossroads Candles Factory Store. If you know me, I was pretty excited to go in. Dale stayed in the car. Such a beautiful store. The ladies in there were so friendly! I liked talking with them.
It was a cloudy day, but warm. The rain held off until our drive home. Dale says today was "Eventful" so that's a win!

We're still here.
We're ready for more aDVentures.
When Dale and I started this page last year, we had no idea that 2024 would be filled with such tragedy. We put this on the back burner.
Our last county trip was in April.
With support of our family and friends, we are going to try again. We received some wonderful gifts to make it happen. It will be different, but it will be.

County #9 - Trumball County
What a BEAUTIFUL day! ☀️
Dale and I spent most of the day in Warren. There was so much to see! Breakfast at Jack's Nestegg Diner was fantastic! Jack was fun to watch cook. 👨‍🍳
We only found one thrift store today, but it was a nice one! We picked up a few goodies.
We explored a fun alley and saw the World's Largest Drumsticks! 🥁 That's where we left a wooden spoon.
We had a snack somewhere I've been wanting to go, and it did not disappoint! 🍰
We visited President McKinley in Niles!
Learned about about Neil Armstrong's first flight!
Went to Cortland for a visit to Mosquito Lake and then supper at Brothers Pizza!
It was so nice being out and about!

County #8 - Summit County
Dale and I were putzing around in Summit County today. We think Summit County will be like Stark County...we're here a lot, so we'll probably post about it more than once, or twice, or thrice.
I took Dale to breakfast, in Tallmadge, at Breakfast At Tiffani's. OMG, it's the cutest little place with the most amazing staff and delicious food! Please go!
We found some estate sales and a super cute thrift store in Merriman Valley.
It stopped raining, the sun peeked out, and it got up to 60° by late afternoon!

It was a beautiful, spring day!
Breakfast, some shopping, some nature, lunch, and more antique~ing.
We met some great folks today, (and one super cranky shop owner ✌️).
The drive over was lovely once the sun came out! Conversation was great, scenery was beautiful, and Dale and I witnessed our first proposal! SHE SAID YES! 😍

We had a fun, cold, WINDY couple of days in Belmont County, Ohio! Our 6th county!
We took all back roads to St. Clairsville, Ohio yesterday. Have you ever done those roads? WOW!
Today we found a few antique stores, visited The Underground Railroad Museum, had lunch where the volunteer at the museum suggested, found a covered bridge, and walked the Walnet Grove Cemetery in Martin's Ferry.
We're currently heading home, following the Ohio River.
I loved the landscapes in Belmont County. The way they build the houses up the hills (or mountains) is really amazing! Dale and I also met some wonderful people on this trip! It was a lot of fun!
