For years our family has made a simple, moist, and delicious scone. When our oldest daughter Emmeline, was rediagnosed with a brain tumor at age 10, her dream was to have a card shop, featuring her homemade cards, crafts from local artisans, or simply put, her own Hallmark store. The community came together and made that happen. One of the things she sold at "Emmeline's Cards and More" were mixes
of our family scones. These scones were one of her favorite foods. People enjoyed them so much that we received requests throughout the year for more. Emmeline passed away in the summer of that year. Eventually, my husband and I decided to start a small business out of our home for two main reasons. First of all, to provide these scones to more people and to share what Emmeline loved. Secondly, we have six other children who would love to see their grandparents all of whom live overseas. We thought it would be a way we can start saving for a trip to see them! (They always come to us!) Right now, the earnings are going for a trip to Brazil where I grew up and where my parents have lived for 45 years. So try out the scones. We are sure you and your family and friends will love them! EDIT: Well, three years ago, in 2018, we were able to take our kids to see their grandparents in Brazil for 7 weeks! It was a prayer and dream come true. Since then I have been able to go back on several occasions with different children. Last year I was able to take our 3 younger kids in March and our 3 older kids in May. That may have been our last trip due to the fact that my parents have decided to move to the US (after 52 years-gulp!) and live in a mother-in-law suite in our new home. My -in laws retired from their work in the Philippines in 2020 and have moved a few miles from us as well! Love having family close. EDIT: My mom passed away suddenly on Feb 3, 2022 due to Covid complications. They were so close to living here (close in theory, not in actually selling their house and leaving!!), but now we know God ordained this mother-in-law suite to be for my Dad. My mom never wanted to leave Brazil and was really having a hard time. My Dad has been ready to move for a long time, so now he is here, at the time frame originally planned on them moving together. We are now working on furnishing his space, etc. We see God's hand in every aspect of this change, move, etc. So many details worked out, so many blessings in the midst of the storm, so many special moments with my Dad and siblings. My Dad is so precious and just ready for whatever life brings here. Such a great attitude! We miss you Mother and understand you are where you have always wanted to be, at the side of your Creator and First Love! EDIT: 08/20/2025 We were so honored to have my dad live with us for almost 3 years. He passed Feb 1, 2025 (2 days apart from the anniversary of my mom's death!) of a brief illness. Up until 5 minutes before he died he was mouthing the words of his favorite hymns as we (his children and spouses) sang together. It was the most peaceful way to see someone (who was longing and prepared to see the one to whom he gave his life) depart. What a privilege to be a part of it. Now we continue to send children off to college; this year we have 3 in college. By purchasing our scones you are helping them get an education.
