Our Story
Our sugar house was started by the four Van Velsor brothers (Wes, Nic, Jake and Nate) with the help of family and friends in 2014. That first year we had almost 175 taps, we boiled on a 2 x 4 flat pan evaporator and we made 24 gallons of syrup.
In 2018 we upgraded to a Leader Patriot 2 x 6 evaporator with a flued back pan. We currently have about 300 taps and we’re looking to expand that number even further in the coming years.
We still do things the old way by burning wood in the evaporator and running both sap lines and buckets.
