Baird Farm - Maple Syrup A small family owned business making maple syrup on a Vermont hill farm since 1918. Our farm store is open Wednesday-Monday. Closed Tuesdays.

Our 560-acre farm is located in Chittenden, Vermont, and has been in the Baird family for four generations. We tap 14,000 maple trees on our farm that is nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountains. We offer maple tours of our sugaring operation by appointment only. Please schedule your tour slot directly through our website at www.bairdfarm.com. We sell our maple syrup, other value-added maple products, Baird Farm merch, and grass-fed beef from Hamilton Cattle Company in our farm store. We look forward to having you visit our farm!

For those of you who don’t know him yet, meet Bob, aka the “Syrup Daddy.” 🫶🏻🍁 Bob knows all there is to know about maple syrup and is the 3rd generation on our farm. If you’re lucky enough this fall you might get the chance to meet him at the sugarhouse, he tends to pop in every now and then to see what’s going on and is known to do a tour or two during the fall foliage season. Bob’s favorite fall activity is hiking and afterward biting into a honey crisp apple. 🍎 He hopes to meet you all this fall!

Some of you know Charlie. Charlie is sampling syrup, but he does so much more on our farm. The other day, Charlie bottled syrup as we listened to nine hours of “mermaid lagoon music“ Charlie is also very compassionate when I talk about GlitterGate. Do you know about GlitterGate? Supposedly there are only really two large manufacturers of glitter in the world and they are very secretive. Who is the largest buyer of glitter in the world? The military? Elon Musk? Nobody knows. The truth is out There… and Charlie … Charlie is close to the truth.

Happy 50th Anniversary to these two! Look at them just glowing in the autumn light. 💫🍁🌼🌻🌾🍂🍁 How lucky I am to have such supportive and loving parents. These two make the perfect pair — complimenting each other in the best ways. We love you both beyond measures. If you were a squash, which one would you be? I’d be the top orange warty one. 😁😁😁 Stop by the farm this fall to see some of the biggest pumpkins you’ve ever seen. We have two on display grown by Patty Roberts and Richard Roberts. One took 8th place at the Vermont Giant Pumpkin Growers Weigh Off! 🏆

Come tour our farm! 🍂 🍃 🍁 Fall foliage is coming and we’ll be offering guided tours of our sugarbush and sugarhouse throughout the season. On October 4th we’ll be offering a special tour in collaboration with Come Alive Outside — our Fall Woods Walk. We’ll be walking folks out to Bob’s abandoned sugarhouse, focusing on the history of the farm, and talking all things maple.
