As our postman Bernie pulled in the yard today yelling "Cinco de Maple, Cinco De Maple!" out of his mail truck, we were reminded how good these maple margaritas are. 🍁 🍹 Give the recipe below a try!

Maple Margarita

2 ounces tequila
1 ounce Cointreau or triple sec
1 ounce Baird Farm amber maple syrup
1 ounce fresh lime juice
A slice of lime for garnish
Kosher salt and Baird Farm maple sugar (optional, for ri***ng the glass)
Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice. Add the tequila, Cointreau, maple syrup, and lime juice. Shake for 30 seconds.

To make the sweet and salty rim, add some salt and maple sugar to a small plate and mix together. Rub a lime wedge around the outside edge of your glass to moisten. Then carefully roll the outside rim in the salt and sugar.

To serve, strain the margarita into a glass and garnish with a slice of lime.

Catching a little snow this morning on the farm. We're hoping the cold 16 Β° F night tonight will help recharge the trees and give us an influx of sap for a little end of season sap party. πŸͺ© Stay tuned. Mother Nature makes the call!

We did a thing! ... We are building a farm stay! We are so pumped to share with you guys this exciting news. This past New Years Eve Jacob and I closed on a house just up the road from the farm. This house and the land used to be a part of our current farm and we are bringing it back together. Being able to restore a piece of the farm’s history feels incredibly special. We were able to expand our sugaring operation on the forested land and we are now working on the even bigger project of restoring an 1800's farmhouse into a farm stay experience! We've been talking for years about doing something like this and seeing it begin to take shape feels surreal. Big shout out to Drew Ott and his team from Freestone Builders who are helping bring this crazy dream to fruition. Follow along with us on Facebook and Instagram as we work to build out this new venture on our farm. 🏠 πŸ› οΈ
.. FOR REAL THOUGH -- we did an April Fools Air B and B joke several years ago and we promise this is NOT A JOKE.

Bob got famous!! We made the Boston Globe! 🌎

This March we had the opportunity to visit with reporter Kate Selig and photographer Danielle Parhizkaran from the Boston Globe. Maple season heavily relies on the weather - with climate change being a huge threat sugarmakers have found ways to adapt and mitigate its impact. Selig features our farm along with a handful of friends to get a better idea on how farms are navigating climate pressures. Heads up, there is a $1 subscription fee to read the whole story, but it is worth checking out. Support the important work of journalism, link in profile.
