Lucy Brook Farm

Lucy Brook Farm We are a small farm with various types of animals: Alpacas, Nubian goats, horses, minis, Herefords, This spring we will also be offering goat milk.

Our farm is a family run farm that takes pride in standing behind our slogan,"Preserving the future by going back to the past". We grow non-gmo, pesticide and herbicide free vegetables and strawberries. We raise alpacas for fiber, pastured hens and broilers as well as pigs. Our animals are humanely raised and fed non-gmo grain from Green Mountain Feed. Please visit our website for more info.

Happy Holidays to our friends and neighbors!!
We are proud to be back in the egg business again. My new ladies (hens) for this year are laying roughly two dozen eggs a day. So we are now able to sell them at $5.00 dozen. They are all colors and good sized. However, as we have a host of dogs on the property, I would ask that you call me at 603-387-5515 to place your order so that I can carry them to you at the beginning of our driveway.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!

Just thinking about Thanksgiving and how fast it is approaching. I have been looking back over pictures from ten years ago and what great memories I have of the holidays. Makes me miss my husband Jeff, but making new memories will be fun. I remember playing cards after dinner with family members who swore I cheated!! We are going to work on a Thanksgiving tree to decorate with all of the things we are grateful to be placed in the middle of the table. I am so blessed with family and memories!!

We have reached the fall season 2021. Haying is done, feet are trimmed, teeth are floated and we are now in the repair mode for fences, equipment and barns that need it. We have had a lot of people stopping by the pasture roadside to take pictures of the alpacas in the pasture. Over the past year we have added two Hereford beef cows to our farm and have decided we will add more. So after a very busy year, we are looking forward to the quiet of winter to catch up.......there is always something to do around here.

Stay tuned 😏

August 2020;
Well, it has been almost another year since my last post. In that time we have bred three of our goats to our buck, lost one doe and her babies before they could be born, had four babies from our second doe, and a single baby from a new mama. The last raised her own baby, where we bottle fed all of our previous babies.
On the last day of February, my husband passed. It has been a rough journey living with Alzheimer's disease and then learning how to carry on without my other half.
We have had a hot July, getting the hay in early in the month. Now waiting for second crop and a little more rain to make it grow!
We have also had to put our first Great Pyr down as she had cancer. On the bright side, we look forward to a new pup to be with Zander who is our second Pyr. He is very lonely without Chloe.....I know how he feels.
The S**o River was very busy this year as people tried to enjoy the outdoors. We were in the river more than usual and it was a great relief during July's heat and humidity.
No Fryeburg Fair this year - but we are looking forward to foliage and cooler weather. Along with that, we are adding a Hereford cow to our farm, along with a steer. She will have a baby in the spring which will bring a re-birth of the old days when dad raised Herefords. The farm will have come full circle.
I hope this updates you a little bit as we continue our life on the farm.
Stay safe and healthy,
Mary and family

Well, Fryeburg Fair is here and summer is done. We were able to put in second crop hay for the alpacas and the goats and we are getting ready for winter.....another year almost gone!!
Our egg production has been down this year, but we are in hopes that next year proves to be better. We are almost ready to breed a few goats so we can have babies next spring! It has been seven years since we had an alpaca baby (cria). That being said, any knitters or spinners who would like to buy some raw fiber, let me know.
We have also been working on our bee population. Two successful hives this summer. Our hopes are high that they will survive the winter.
Keep your fingers crossed and have a fun fall!!

Summer 2019:
As you may know, we no longer do farm tours. Our busy lives along with caring for our family, animals and the farm has made it impossible to add any more to our schedule. We appreciate your interest and thank you for inquiring.

Thank you for your understanding.
