The Beginning

That Farm On The River was a long time dream of mine in college as I looked to my post academic plans. Throughout my time at school I developed a strong desire to bridge the gap between people who eat good food, people who grow good food and the land good food is produced on. An opportunity to buy my current farm from a family friend set these plans into motion. A healthy mixture of riverfront, quality tillable land, stunning rock outcroppings, sturdy old barns, and expansive forest land allowed me a canvas on which to paint my vision. Although much work has been done already since I took over ownership, more tasks await as summer fades into fall. I am in the process of transitioning the farm into certified organic ground to offer more options to local and regional consumers. In 2019 I hope to officially open the farm up to campers so the community can also enjoy the beauty of the land as I do. Next year I am offering a vegetable CSA with a variety of staple crops and the addition of some unique items as well. In the post and beam tie stall barn healthy registered Berkshire pigs are being grown to provide non-GMO pork. I take great pride in taking care of my crops and livestock and hope my labor of love is something the community can also take pride in.
