🍓🍈 FRESH FRUIT & FARM-GROWN VEGGIES ARE STOCKED! 🌽🍅🥒

It was another early trip to Boston for Tara and John, sourcing the best, freshest fruit we can possibly bring back to our customers! We take a lot of pride in choosing our produce ourselves and making sure we're bringing home quality fruit that we're proud to sell to our customers!

🍓 We have beautiful hydroponically grown strawberries
🫐 blueberries
❤️ Raspberries
🖤 Blackberries
💜 Fresh figs
🍑 Native Peaches
🍈 And Snow Leopard melons!

Never heard of a Snow Leopard melon? You're not alone! This unique melon gets its name from its beautiful pale skin with green speckles and markings. Inside, you'll find crisp, juicy white flesh with a refreshingly sweet flavor. If you're a melon lover—or just like trying something different—this one is definitely worth a try!

And while we travel to Boston to carefully source the fruits we don't grow, our vegetables are grown right here on our own farm. 🚜❤️
Right now we're harvesting:
🌱 Lettuce
🍅 Tomatoes
💛 Yellow squash
🥒 Zucchini & cucumbers
🌶️ Hot peppers
🫛 Green beans & wax beans
❤️ Radishes
🥕 Carrots
🌿 Fresh herbs
🧅 Scallions
🌽 And so much more!

For four generations, growing fresh vegetables has been at the heart of what we do. When you shop with us, you can feel good knowing where your food comes from—whether it was picked right here on our farm or personally sourced by our family! ❤️🚜🌽
Come see what's fresh today! 🥕🍓🍈

🌈 Have You Tried Our Rainbow Swiss Chard? 🌈

We are now growing our own rainbow Swiss chard here at John George Farms! With its bright pink, red, yellow and white stems, it may be one of the prettiest vegetables we grow—but many people are not quite sure how to prepare it.

Swiss chard has a mild flavor similar to spinach, and both the leaves and colorful stems are edible. Chop the stems and cook them for a few minutes first, then add the leaves and cook until wilted.

One of the easiest ways to enjoy it is to sauté it with olive oil, fresh garlic, salt and pepper, then finish it with a squeeze of lemon. You can also add it to:
🥬 Soups and stews
🥬 Pasta dishes
🥬 Omelets, frittatas and quiche
🥬 Stir-fries
🥬 Beans, potatoes or rice
🥬 Any recipe that calls for spinach or kale

It is fresh, colorful, versatile and grown right here on our farm. Pick up a bunch and try something new!🌈

Quick Farm-Fresh Recipe:
Separate and chop the stems and leaves. Sauté the stems in olive oil for 3–4 minutes. Add garlic, then add the leaves and cook for another 3–5 minutes, until tender. Season with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Parmesan or red pepper flakes are also delicious additions.

🥬 From Our Fields to Your Table — Fresh, Local & Grown with Care 🌽🍅

This weekend, Tara was at a baby shower when the mom-to-be was about to enjoy a salad. Someone quickly warned her not to eat the lettuce because of the recent parasite outbreak. Tara smiled and said, "Go ahead and eat it if it's from our farm—my dad grew it!"

We've heard similar concerns from many of our customers over the past few weeks, and we wanted to reassure everyone. The lettuce you'll find at John George Farms is grown right here on our family farm, along with our squash, green beans, peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, kale, beets, carrots, scallions, eggplant, and sweet corn. Our tomatoes will be ready soon, too!

For the fruits and vegetables we don't grow ourselves, Tara and John personally make several trips to the produce market each week to hand-select the freshest, highest-quality produce available. For example, our strawberries are hydroponically grown in Canada and are absolutely delicious!

For nearly a century, we've taken great pride in providing our community with fresh, quality produce. We know where our vegetables come from because we grow them ourselves, and we're proud to put them on your family's table.

Thank you for continuing to trust our family to feed yours. ❤️🌱

🌽 There are a few questions we hear on repeat all summer long, but one always tops the list: "Is this your corn?" 🌽Closely followed by, "When are you going to start picking your own corn?" We love hearing it because we know everyone is just as excited for sweet corn season as we are!
The wait is finally over... the day is here! 🎉
We started picking our own sweet corn today, and we'll have it available going forward! There's nothing quite like fresh-picked corn that was growing in our fields just hours before it makes its way to your dinner table.
If Sunday dinner is on the menu, make sure fresh sweet corn is too! 🌽💛

Stop by and see us—we're open every day from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We can't wait to see you!
