This verse reminds us that the God we trust is not only our Helper, He is the Maker of heaven and earth. Every forest, field, river, mountain, and seed bears witness to His creativity, wisdom, and care.

As followers of Christ, caring for creation is an act of worship and stewardship. When we protect the soil, preserve biodiversity, and work with the natural systems God designed, we honor the Creator by caring for what He has made.

Today, may we pause to appreciate the beauty of creation and remember our responsibility to steward it well. The earth is the work of His hands, and a gift entrusted to ours.

Three months after training 10 Compassion International Frontline Church Partners in Tanzania’s Lake Region, it’s encouraging to see the impact already taking root.

During a recent follow-up visit, the team witnessed well-established tree nurseries and emerging community seed banks across several centers. These efforts are helping strengthen local food systems, promote creation care, and build long-term resilience within communities.

Our hope is that by the end of the year, every participating center will have fully established tree nurseries and seed banks serving their communities. 💚🌎

Katuk (Sauropus androgynus) is one of the many underutilized plants ECHO trains communities to grow because of its impressive nutritional value and productivity. This perennial leafy shrub thrives in warm climates and produces abundant edible leaves that are rich in vitamins, minerals, and protein.

Because katuk is perennial, it can be harvested repeatedly throughout the year, providing a consistent source of greens even during difficult seasons. Its adaptability and productivity make it a powerful tool for improving nutrition and strengthening food security.

At ECHO, neem is one of the many plants we continue to study, share, and promote because of its incredible versatility. Known as a drought-resistant “multipurpose tree,” neem has been used around the world for natural pest management, soil improvement, shade, fuelwood, and even medicinal purposes.

Neem leaves and seeds contain compounds like azadirachtin, which make it especially valuable as a natural insect repellent and biopesticide for small-scale farmers. Neem-based solutions can help protect crops while reducing dependence on synthetic chemicals.

Through ECHO’s trainings, seed bank resources, and global network, we help communities learn how to integrate neem into sustainable farming systems that strengthen both livelihoods and the environment. 🌱💚

Across much of the world, hunger is not caused by a lack of land or effort. It is often the result of land that has been exhausted, soils stripped of life, and farming systems that no longer serve the people who depend on them. For ECHO, caring for creation is not a secondary concern or a modern trend. It sits at the very center of how we understand food security, faith, and faithful stewardship.

Creation Care begins with a simple conviction: God’s creation is not merely a resource to be used, but a gift to be tended. When land is cared for well, it nourishes families, strengthens communities, and endures through changing climates. When land is degraded, the consequences are felt first by small scale farmers and their families.

At ECHO, creation care is at the heart of our mission. By walking alongside small-scale farmers with sustainable agricultural practices, we help communities care for the land while improving food security and livelihoods. When we steward the earth well, we honor God and take care of His gift.

In creation, we catch glimpses of the Creator. From the detail of a flower petal to the rhythm of the seasons, the world reflects God’s beauty, care, and provision.

Jesus pointed to the flowers as a reminder that the One who clothes the fields also sees and cares for us. Creation is more than scenery, it is a testimony to the character of God.

When we slow down enough to notice it, the earth speaks of His faithfulness everywhere we look. 🌍 💚

While relief meets immediate needs, lasting change comes from strengthening the ability of communities to grow, adapt, and thrive on their own.

At ECHO, we walk alongside farmers and leaders, sharing knowledge, seeds, and practical solutions that can be sustained and multiplied locally. The goal isn’t dependency, it’s long-term resilience rooted in skills, relationships, and stewardship of the land.

Because the most powerful solutions are the ones that last.

Clean energy progress can be as simple as an insulated bag.

The Wonder Bag (fireless cooker) is part of a clean energy initiative that is transforming how families care for creation and themselves while preparing food. After bringing a meal to a boil, the food and pot are placed inside the insulated bag or basket where it finishes cooking, without additional fuel.

When paired with tools like the LILO stove, the Wonder Bag becomes a game-changer:
⏱️ Increases efficiency in food preparation
🌿 Reduces firewood use, helping prevent deforestation
💨 Supports cleaner, safer cooking environments

This simple, low-cost solution saves time, protects natural resources, and makes everyday cooking more sustainable.

Sometimes the most powerful innovations aren’t complex, they’re practical.
